Despite their league position, Oxford's recent form hasn't been particularly good; their defeat to Charlton this week meant this game could go ahead, while their late win against Wycombe on Saturday was their first in 5 games
Line-up vs Wycombe:
Gk Ryan Clarke Def Tom Newey Def Michael Raynes Def Jake Wright Def David Hunt Def Johnny Mullins Mid Sean Rigg Mid Danny Rose Mid Nicky Wroe For James Constable For Ryan Williams
Subs: J Henly (Gk), Matt Bevans (Def), Scott Davies (Mid), Josh Ruffles (Mid), Deane Smalley (For), Tyrone Marsh (For), Callum O'Dowda (For)
Last game: Torquay 1-3 Oxford (Smalley 49; Constable 63; Chapell 70; Hall 77), League Two, August 2013
Last game at Oxford: Oxford 0-0 Torquay, League Two, November 2012
Last Torquay win at Oxford: Oxford 0-2 Torquay (OG Batt 5; Kee 89), League Two, November 2010

A game to look forward to at last! Tore us apart last time in August we looked like we would struggle back then and they looked like they would be up there and so it proved. Still plenty of water has passed under the bridge since that day (literally! and I hope for an improvement on the result. Nicky Wroe against us - should be interesting and add some spice specially when Nico and Danny give him the run around . Ha!

I didn't think Oxford were that great last August but were able to take their chances whereas we weren't! Nico at left back and Cruise at right back probably weren't the best defensive combination then and will be very interested to see how we line up in this area on Saturday....
I'm not convinced whether this two week break has been good or bad for us - has the momentum been lost from Hargreaves first win or has he had time to hone tactics and pick his best XI?

Well at least we have a 50/50 chance of winning this game now. If the game had been under Knill, then I think we can safely say we would have had a 0% chance and lost! I would imagine the great spirit the team had after the Wimbledon win has diminished somewhat with the amount of time which has now passed so i'm going for a 1:1 draw and happy with that. Northampton have to take on the mighty Chesterfield so don't look like making up any ground on us even if we do lose. One thing in our favour has happened recently and that is Nicky Wroe going to Oxford...so now we only have to play against ten men!

On entering 'most recent posts' I find that 13 of the 15 items displayed are the Prediction League. Is there any technical way of blocking that thread from showing up in the most recent posts section? Anyway, on to my prediction. Oxford United 0 Torquay United 3 (with Oxford lucky to get nil)

From what Dave Thomas is saying, I wouldn't be surprised to see Bodin (or Chapell) on for Benyon (or Hawley) and go to two up top and one in behind.

Shame - one lapse of concentration early on and we get beat by a single goal. If we had lost by a single goal at Oxford earlier in the season it would have been taken as a reasonable result but at this stage and when so much damage was done earlier with poor performances and tactics its a little more difficult to accept. Good to see we competed and matched them for much of the game but its goals we desperately need at the moment to give us hope and something to defend. Accept it we must and move on to another very difficult game on Tuesday where we desperately need to the take three points just to keep us in touch with the improving teams above us. Usually don't attend mid week these days after a day working out in the cold and wet but this is so important I will more than likely attend.
Oh and well done to Danny Stevens for avoiding the wrath of the numskulls who would no doubt be blaming him for this result and all our seasons shortcomings if he had got a start or even made the bench today!

Frustrating. Seems we lost a fairly even game to a soft early goal.
I caught the end of the pre-match interview with CH and he was saying about how fans of big clubs like Oxford get behind the team when it is winning, but are quick to get on the players' backs if things don't go to plan - so it was extremely important for us to start off tight and not let in a soft early goal.
Took me back thirty-one years to an FA Cup tie with Sheffield Wednesday. The one thing we absolutely knew we must not under any circumstances do was to leave Mick Lyons unmarked at a set piece. Fans too young to have been at Plainmoor that day can probably guess what happened next.

I see it's been announced that Wilder has resigned at Oxford and heading to Northampton. Could give them a boost?
