Just for the record i was there that sunny July afternoon in 2004 to watch the newly promoted Gulls coast to a 6 0 win. 6-0 in 2004 Owen, D.Canoville, Gritton (pen), Akinfenwa 2 (1 pen), Taylor 4-0 in 2003 Kuffour, Benefield, Camara 2 1-0 in 1987 Dobson The most important trip to Exmouth in TUFC's history was one that never happened. We were due to play an East Devon League game there on 13 April 1907 but we couldn't raise a team due to the Exeter train leaving before the Saturday half-day workers finished work. Chelston was not happy because he had made the trip up for the game. Fortunately he had got a discounted ticket using his Devon and Cornwall railcard. The same problem with a trip to Friernhay seven months later saw us pull out of the EDL and by the end of the season we were only the third biggest club in Torquay.

As no one seems to want to have a guess on the other lost sports ground that sits behind the hedge from Exmouth cricket ground.
It's the Maer golf course. A walk over this now common ground and it becomes quite apparent were the greens and bunkers were.

I will admit I did play a round on there in my youth... But that was long after it was a golf course!
