The Exeter Derby may be off but we have another one straight away to our other Devon neighbours on Boxing Day. Last year there were close to 2000 Gulls at this match but the combination of the Bank holiday on the Second of January (fewer hangovers! ;D) and being at the same level as Plymouth for a few years transported the recent Dagenham match home equivalent attendance over to Home Park! Although it would be good to end the year as we started it, Plymouth are a better outfit than 12 months ago although 23 from 23 games for a club this size in league 2 suggests all is not well and finances still seem to be tight with players having to go out before others can come in. Their goal scoring does seem to be evenly spread throughout the team but I see this more as a weakness than as a strength.... For this game, Saah will now serve his second suspended match and will be joined by Jarvis, Morris and Macklin on the sidelines. There are injury concerns for Bodin, Thompson and Oastler but at least they now have an extra four days to prove their fitness. We are only just in the top half of the table but things are so tight that Exeter, only two points above us, still occupy the last play off place and some good results over Christmas could see us up there!  |

It rained all Friday evening and never stopped at all on Saturday, some of that rain was very heavy indeed. I had to go to Plymouth on Saturday afternoon and have never seem so much standing water on the roads between Totnes and the A38. Its very wet and windy this morning and one wonders where all this rain is coming from, I do feel even if our home game against Exeter had gone ahead, the game would have been called off halfway through it. It would be a real shame to lose a second Xmas fixture, for so many years we have not had real local derby's over the Xmas period and to end up losing two of them due to the weather is not what we would have wanted. My gut feeling is this game will go ahead but it might not be a pretty game to watch and we will do well to get any sort of result from the match. |

Looking out of the window the weather does not look to bad so far today and so I can't see any reason why this game will not go ahead.
One would hope our players would benefit from not playing last Saturday and all we can hope for is they have not eaten to much Christmas pudding. On the evidence of what I saw in the game I recently watched, as long as we keep the ball on the deck and play the sort of football we are more than capable of playing, then I can only see a Torquay United win today.
If you are going to the match have a safe journey down to Plymouth and I hope you will share your thoughts and views on the match later here on the TFF.

I watched the 0-0 bore draw in september and we should have spanked them. The cornish are shite and we should be able to play them off the park. However, we are far from convincing on our travels. I'm going for a 0-2 win for us. They should be far more open on their patch than they were on ours and I predict Danny and Billy to run them ragged. That twit Gordon Sparks has been pretty critical of Fletcher recently and if we turn them over he could be for the chop........so bye bye Fletch!

The weather has sure changed in the Bay from earlier this morning, its now blowing a gale and very wet indeed. I would imagine the conditions are now much the same in Plymouth, so if the game does go ahead( I'm sure it will) its not going to be good footballing weather.

Sounds like we are playing a 4-4-2 formation and playing into a very strong wind. It also sounds like Plymouth has started the better of the two teams. Come on boys we can win this game.

We are under pressure and doing well to stop Plymouth from taking the lead, will do well to get to half time on level terms.

Against such a strong wind we have done well to stop Plymouth from scoring in the first half. Lets hope we can use the wind to our advantage and put Plymouth under pressure in the second half.
