After a week off we are back in action against our old BSP rivals who are doing pretty well, just a point off a play off place but in tenth although we would leap frog them if we won here and then again against Exeter! Not that the omens are good as we only have two wins on the road so far and they haven't lost at home since November 20th putting Accy,Rochdale and Southend to the sword since then!
Burton have a very good strike force with Zola and former gull Billy Kee leading the attack with 11 and 8 goals respectively supported from midfield by Maghoma also on 8. The transfer window has already seen some movement for them with Justin Richards shipped out on loan to Oxford with teenager Adam Drury brought in on loan from Man City and actually started against Leicester in place of Kee. Whether this will be replicated for a league match remains to be seen although he is a winger by trade....
With the injury and suspension crisis that we have had recently, a week off is not a bad thing and the rescheduled matches in February may actually see us in a stronger position. I sure Brian Saah will be looking forward to his first match since 8th December as the weather and FA Cup has seen us play the least number of games in our league! I suspect that the injured quartet of Bodin, Jarvis, Macklin and Morris won't feature although we should hear more about the first two this week after their medical examinations.
Despite a poor performance on New Year's Day, I think Yeoman had done enough to retain his place unless a super douper new striker is signed in the meantime! Otherwise it is Easton v Lathrope with Craig very likely to stay on the wing and as you were apart from the returning Saah. Tough match this with our defence needing to be top notch, something that was very sadly lacking last time out!
