Actually, I was within ten yards of bodin that day. There was contact and it stopped him getting to the ball before it went out. No doubt in my mind it was a clear penalty. Okay, he went down easily to emphasise the contact but that was immaterial. Luck does sort of even out over a season and we haven.t had much recently.

By next Saturday I'd expect at least one new face, possibly more, and Knill will have had more chance to change things to the way he wants. Hoping to see the side set up more offensively for the home match next Saturday is an understandable request, but despite our recent poor form a quick glance at the league table shows that there is only one team below the playoff places (Chesterfield) who have scored more goals at home than us. So even if we did use the same system that has been used for a season and a half, overall it's brought us a promotion chasing level of goals at home.
"Same old Same old.Playing it safe again" is correct as far as our away set up was concerned yesterday, but that system of keeping it tight away from home got us to the playoffs last season. Again if you look at the current league table there are only two teams in the whole division who have conceeded fewer goals away from home than us. Despite the recent bad form our defending away from home shows stats you would associate with a side in the automatic promotion places.
Knill played to our strengths away from home. Had we opted for an open game I wouldn't have put money on Benyon and Howe outscoring the Accrington strikers on their own patch.
We need to make significant changes certainly, but in a way that doesn't tamper with the things we've evidently been good at for the majority of this season and last. A further weeks examination by Dr.Knill, and Saturday may show on which areas of the patient he's decided to operate. I doubt he'll have built a bionic man but we need something capable of limping over the finishing line no lower than third from last by the end of April.

Yes anyone who thinks that this is going to be pretty is going to be sorely mistaken! Knills remit is simply to grind out enough points to see us safe. If we csn finish the season third from bottom on goal difference i will be delighted.

Keyberry, far be it from me to defend the officials (because weve seen some pretty shoddy ones recently at home, particularly with handballs in the area) but I assume the lino was on the right side of the picture as we look at it? If thats the case, Nico and the Accy player could well be blocking his view of our No 16 and he would take Nico to be our player closest to goal. In that case the Accy player does look to have strayed goal side of Nico which may be why it was given?

Regardless of side, I would expect a South Devon League club linesman to be able to get in a position to make this decision.

I was not there Rob so can't really give my views on it, in saying that it looked a very soft penalty on the TV and all the city fans I talked with, felt he dived. No not that much luck recently, but then I feel there are times you have to make your own luck and not wait around for any to come your way.

Thanks for putting up the pictures Nick, the interior of the market hall reminds me a bit how the market hall in Newton abbot once looked. The gents could do with having some money spent on them by the look of things.

The football ground gents are not good on the inside either. I plan to post pictures of other grounds I have visited once the dust settles after the end of this season.

I look forward to seeing than Nick and I’m sure all the other TFF members will as well. Both our history room and grounds room have been starved recently of good new material.

I hope you're right, Dave, in that people will welcome a few pictures of distant football grounds. But I will do my best to save them until the season is successfully resolved. I wouldn't want to distract attention from more pressing matters. I must warn you that I've been to lots of new places since Christmas with a fair few to come over the next few weeks.
