I'd flirt with following Aldershot, then see how things went. I would support us if we were AFCTUFC in a much lower division as an alternative, though.

tufc - Sorry, the smileys did not register (in my limited head). Get it now! Midlands_PAECTUFC. Cheers. But what would you call yourself if the hideousness happened!!?? I shouldn't tell you this but i use TUFC01 as my password for EVERYTHING, because you normally need a combination of letters and numbers and this is easy to remember. Therefore IF we were to merge, i would need the 'new' team to use the same initials. ;D ;D ;D

Iwould not travel to Devon to watch TUFc merged with anyone. I'd either follow Merthyr or at a push Swansea but never Cardiff

Well that is a question and I would not know what to call such a new team. You can't use Torquay and Exeter, as what one would you put first? You can't use the word City because Torquay is not, can a word be made out of both the names that would have all the letters in it. Time for romfordkev to step in and give us the answer.

Well not to sure about that name Rob still I think you are too young to remember Smokey Joe. He was a tramp who lived on the hill near the top on the way to Newton Abbot. His face was always black from the fires he had going, maybe the reason for his name I guess. I was a kid when I first saw him and he was always there when you went up the hill in a car.I think he got ill and was taken into hospital and I seem to remember a story in the paper, about the problems they had, making him have a bath. He went back to living on the hill, but passed away a few years later.

If we have a choice Dave; can we merge with the Pilgrims? Better than the Greeks? Discuss! as long as we didn't have to wear those gopping Green shirts ;D ;D ;D

...some may look to join with another club as a way to survive.. There is talk that Weymouth could join up with Dorchester and knowing the area well, I think it could be the answer for Weymouth. Now lets think the very worst and TUFC were on the brink of going under and so were Exeter City, both clubs looking like they would be lost forever alone with all their history. Then our chairman makes a statement that says the only way for TUFC to survive is to join up with Exeter and form a new club. The new club would play at Newton Abbot and the name would be a combination of both the old club names. The question Is how would you feel? No no no. Never never never. Barmy idea. A team in Newton Abbot would certainly attract less than a team in Exeter, and probably less than a team in Torquay - unless you are talking of a Premier League setup to lure the square eyed fans off their sofas. If the "merged" team played in Torquay it would be Torquay and if it played in Exeter it would be Exeter. Any true Weymouth fan will be up in arms at the thought of Dorchester buying promotion Milton Keynes style. I'm sure that the hardcore would rather see Weymouth sink down the pyramid and start in the Dorset League. The floaters will give up either way. Torquay Town in the SW Peninsula League - yes. Exeter United in the Premier League - no way.
