Three strikers in the starting XI. It's going to need more than just a nice morale boost to get something from this with that sort of tactical philosophy. Crazy

Well done, Hargreaves! What a difference having a decent manager can make - someone with real passion for our club, energy and belief in our players. It's like a cloud has been lifted from our club, and that was even noticeable under Harrop last week. It feels like OUR club again. Mind you, the league table still does not look good so plenty of work still needs to be done to get out of the mire. But there's now real hope we can do it.

Great result, a big step in our battle against relegation and look forward to reading some reports.
In our battle against relegation, this is not the end, or even the beginning of the end, but just maybe, the end of the beginning....

Three strikers in the starting XI. It's going to need more than just a nice morale boost to get something from this with that sort of tactical philosophy. Crazy It's funny that when managers do the unexpected, some will jump to the conclusion that it is the manager who must be stupid and the fan knows better. Others may be puzzled but try to understand the reasoning behind the unexpected decision. What was the thinking behind that starting lineup and can someone who was at the game shed any further light on what roles the front three undertook? Was it a way to counter the 3-5-2? That formation is based on the back three being able to pick up the front two and still have a man spare - so releasing the full backs. If there isn't a spare man because the opposition has put three up front, the full backs need to be more cautious. It sounded from the commentary as if Benyon and Stockley were up front full-time with Hawley alternating between being a third striker and filling in on the right of midfield when Mansell dropped deeper. Is that what people who went thought? Tactics and formations are fun to talk about it, but it is usually the teams with players who play well that win matches. Sounds like our players played well today.
