On the bright side, it's another game chalked off to get us closer to the end of this most miserable of seasons.

I honestly cannot wait until we are mathematically confirmed as down and we can stop all this "I believe we can do this" business when its quite apparent we cannot score a bloody goal to save our lives. Must be going for the record of consecutive 1-0 defeats and to cap it all not a single shot on target and failed to score in six of our last eight matches. This is supposed to be a time to be battling for every ball. We simply don't have a clue and its gradually got worse rather than better since Hargreaves was appointed. Cant see me going to Plainmoor again until there is some sort of hope and something to cheer. Had enough huffing and puffing with no end product and no prospect of a win or even seeing us score a goal.

Hi peterf......you guys that go game after game....can understand you frustration and anger with what's going on at our club.......and yeah correct what you say bout being mathematically impossible for us to stay up......it goes a lot deeper than just signing this lad from Tottenham I fully understand this....but why didn't he start......I don't believe for second that the board want us to be relegated just dosent make financial sense.......and you know hell a lot more than I do and I respect rhat.......don't want to sound condescending in any way to any of you......but will never give in and I am not taking the piss in any way.....si

After the appointment of CH and our away win at Portsmouth on the 1st February I was conviced we would get out of trouble. Our record since then of 2 wins, one draw and 9 defeats is grim stuff. What went wrong?

Although I am an eternal optimist where Torquay are concerned (I have to be as I enter my 49th year of being a supporter) for me the turning point was losing at home to Northampton. At that time we were 6 points clear of them and a win would have taken us out of the bottom two and within touching distance of the next 6 clubs, whilst at the same time leaving them 9 points adrift. As it was, they got the points that night and have used that as the springboard to recover things. Admittedly the wheels came off for them today but I can't help but wonder if we had won back in February, would that have been our springboard?
Although my head tells me we can still survive, in my heart I know we are doomed. I have had a lot of disappointment as a Torquay supporter over the years but to be honest, the prospect of dropping out of the league for a second time fills me with despair. If we do not get back out within 2 years, I fear we may well end up like so many other ex-league clubs in the Conf, just bumping around in mid table with the occasional flirt with a play off place. Nothing to be looking forward to, that's for sure.

Yes I agree, Floridagull. That was Hargreaves first home game in charge and he had won 2 out of 3 of his first away games. The truth was that the Plainmoor pitch was hardly playable that night and we just could not adapt to the conditions. Cue some horrible defensive indecisiveness from our defence and keeper and the rest they say is history.
Make no mistake we deserve to be a Conference team next season but all the early indications already is that we are going to struggle unless we can somehow have a huge, gigantic clear-out of virtually ALL our present players, several of whom will be under contract next season. What a thankless task for Hargreaves who it has to be said is an unknown, rookie manager. It all does not bode well for the future.
