Linesman gave the pen - for what I have no idea. Done and dusted cant do anything about it we MUST, however follow up a decent performance with another on Sunday. yep totally agree petef but an honourable draw at rovers doesnt mean we will show up against alfreton who mullered us not long ago, with deadly karl hawley in attack. They didnt play today so will turn up fresh

Much the better team first half. Didn't muster much in second half but looked comfortable until that penalty. Ball floated over and went out for our goal kick, ref gave nothing but linesman waving his flag like a lunatic. Result - penalty and second yellow for MacDonald. Penalty looked the only way rovers would score, they were poor today. Needed that second goal when we were on top first half. A word for our much maligned left back - thought Cruise was very good today.

Good point .....should of been 3........don't like blaming refs........but what complete wxxxxr.......si Ref would not have given it hullgull, blame the lino! I thought that we got the bulk of the decisions today from the ref. Also forgot to add in my previous post, the rovers fans were very quiet today, like being in a library at times!!

Thought he had done ok all season in all honesty and wondered why Ives was getting the nod though I guess Hargreaves needed to see how Ives coped against "men" and to keep him sweet of course in his effort to make him sign a contract. From listening Ajala was pretty good today as well all over the pitch performance so well done to him to.

Ajala was good petef, and Chappell was lively in first half. Berry was excellent defensively second half. Overall it was a good team performance from everybody. Just a shame it didn't yield the victory.

Went to the game today, really enjoyed my day out with the lad. Was great to meet up (unplanned) with Jon and Rjdgull, and to see Barton in the ground, thought it was a massively improved performance , back four did well, probably as good as I've seen the defence as a unit in a while, but, they must keep it up, one game in five isn't going to see our team into the play-off's.

Good to see Jon and to meet rjd at the match.
Seabright 6 (Torquay's number 1. One very good tip over to speak of. couple of flappy punches. Our best keeper) Berry 7.5 (sign him up now) MacDonald 5 (didn't see penalty incident. Lost out on a few headers today and overhits when it's on the deck) Downes 7 (very good. Battled and read play well) Cruise 8 (best defensive display I have seen from him. Some key interceptions and stopped them crossing all day. As did Berry)
Chapell 7 (good first half but faded 2nd half) Harding 7 (better than Lukey today. Plays it simple. Breaks up play. Sensible player) Young 6 (not one of his better displays, but not bad.) Ajala 9 (gave everything. Full blooded in his defensive duties.)
Ofori-Acheampong 8.5 (caused them problems. Excellent in the first half, but a problem for Rovers throughout. Slowly becoming my current favourite player) Bowman 5.5 (knew he could start an argument in an empty room. He has arguments with corner flags, this fella. Punched it and ripped it out of the ground right in front of us. Amusingly miserable beggar. Not on it today, though.)
Subs: Neither had much impact, other than the big-boned Briscoe on the turf.
Mansell - Judas

Not a bad day out and good to see some both familiar and new faces. For a while, Jon and I thought all 3 points were on the cards before the lino spotted something - anyone see what? Frustrating as Rovers weren't creating much by this stage and the free kick that led to the penalty sailed high over everyone!
We were certainly the better team in the first half with some good movement and passing of the ball. Harding started with a couple of misplaced passes but grew into the game and did well. Really good team effort throughout the side and more than matched the form side of the division. Rovers headed a few set pieces wide when could have done better and Taylor created their only real moment of quality but the supporting player should have done better!
Ofori-Acheampong took the goal well with the ball trickling over the line with agonising slowness. Chappell had a good chance towards the end of the half with his effort just over the bar. Second half was by no means back to the wall but we soaked up the pressure well until their goal...

Thanks to rjd for the lift.
Parked up by the Wellington but it was packed so wandered down to the Anchor for a pint of Doom Bar. Quite a few yellow shirts in there and nice to have a good chat with "forever" Dave.
Lots more familiar faces to say hello to when we got to the ground.
Pasty report: not up there with an Ivor Dewdney but a very passable effort indeed. Well above the usual football ground fare. Rjd upset the bloke next to us by harshly only giving it a 7/10.
After Boxing Day, I was expecting a thrashing. Having seen the weather forecast, I was expecting a soaking.
Eighty minutes in: 1-0 up, looking comfortable and not a drop of rain.
The danger posed by a free kick on their left was reduced by the fact that Manse is their dead ball specialist. He obligingly belted the ball straight out for a goal kick. No problem. Hang on a minute. Lino flagging - no idea why. Penalty - no idea why. MacDonald second yellow and red.
Penalty converted - rain started. Soaking and a beating back on the agenda.
The frantic finale never happened. The ten men held on comfortably. The light shower didn't turn into a heavy shower.
Got back to the car with a point in the bag and only slightly wet. Better than I had expected, but less than I had hoped for with ten minutes to go.
Plus points for me were that Harding, after a dodgy start, really looked the part. Good news until the next time he gets injured. Chapell and Ajala worked their socks off. I think that was probably the key to us controlling the game - Berry and Cruise looked far more comfortable for having cover in front. Ofori-Acheampong is a handful - but still a raw talent.
I can't really comment on THE incident of the game as I didn't see it. You see so much pushing and shoving on both sides as a set-piece is taken that it seems harsh to be on the receiving end of such a decision. We do seem to get "out-savvied" regularly by players winding our men up and over-reacting to the reaction. Not certain that is what happened today, but have seen it with Bowman and Downes red cards this season. I'd suggest we need to be a bit more savvy.
On the whole a great day out, a good team performance and a good point - would have been a lot better with three points though!

Hard to tell, was it perhaps the flailing arm at the end of the clip? Cant really tell, unless he was impeding the rovers player at the back post maybe? Pretty harsh decision either way.
Ive watched it about half a dozen times now at the highest resolution (I really need to get out more!) and the only thing I can think is the linesman flagged for Mac holding the Rovers player down by his shirt when he tries to get his head on the ball at the back post. It looks a perfectly aimed free kick at just the right height for someone at the back post to get a head on it.
