Not really an ex-player but someone who played an integral part in Torquay United's success in the mid 90's. Travelling by train from Totnes to London last week I got chatting to the guy sitting next to me and discovered he was a certain Kevin Millard, the guy from the Caribbean who let us have Greg Goodridge and Rodney Jack, whom we sold for almost £1 million! Seems like he has been coaching in Spain for the last 4 years after trying to find a local club here in Devon to work with without any joy. He says he has now retired from football at 56 and is enjoying life here in Devon. When I told him we could do with him helping us out here he said he had approached Torquay several times in recent years but had been dismissed as not being suitable for English football! What a joke! Didn't he coach at Boca Juniors in Argentina? I remember he bought his Lambada side here around 1994 or 1995 and they beat Hereford Utd 6 - 1 and Scottish side Livingston 4 - 0. They beat Woking 3 - 0 and then played us at Plainmoor the next evening and lost 1 - 2, clearly tired (2 matches in 24 hours?). That was the match Rodney Jack took us apart and we signed him straight away! Perhaps somebody should get hold of him and see if we can't use the knowledge he must have with that experience. I think he lives in Totnes or Ipplepen area.

Piece (in German) from the Hamburger Morgenpost on former Gull and St Pauli legend Morike Sako. Mentions him finishing the 2015-16 season at Eintracht Norderstedt, but appears to be a free agent at 34. link

James Hurst signs for Dover... Good player if he behaves himself. Sure to upset someone or get into trouble but worth a gamble I guess.

Getting really exiting now, according to another site we have also captured David Pipe from Eastleigh. No doubt that is a master stroke in the transfer market. Who next, 45 year old Nobbie Dross a former Rutland under 12 player who has been scoring goals for fun in the Southern Table Football League after a distinguished career in Subuteo! Just gets better and better!

What Harrad can still provide as a player doesn't immediately get the pulse racing, I agree. However, Nico used to speak very highly of him, every bit as much for what he brought us in his professional approach and attitude and the excellent example he was/will be for the younger members of the squad. With Nico and Robbie Herrera knowing more about the defensive side of the game, a wise old attacking head such as that possessed by Shaun Harrad may give just as much value on the training ground in what he passes on to others, than solely what we can still squeeze out of his old legs on the pitch. I'm sure Nico will be very pleased to have him back.
