TUFC takeover bid - Gaming International Ltd

There will not be a fans' forum or a shareholders' AGM - which is well overdue - until this is a fait accompli as I doubt very much whether this deal would stand up to any scrutiny whatsoever.

GI are in it to make a profit - pure and simple.

Why buy a club and have no interest in running it?

Because the property developers will have to negotiate with the club's owners over how the spoils are divided.

If the property developers ARE the owners, it makes those negotiations far easier as they will be negotiating with themselves.

Of course, GI's track record of actually building stadia to replace the ones they bulldoze is appalling as has been reported on here - Bristol, Milton Keynes, Reading, Swindon .....

If they do actually get round to building a new stadium in Torquay, what will be the terms for the football club to occupy? Whatever GI decides. Cheap / free rent and all of the "ancillary income?" Fat chance.

And if they fail to build at all, will they walk away from a loss or hold the club to ransom for repayment of loans plus interest?

They will undoubtedly end up throwing what is left after they have finished "to the fans". Will what is left be worth having? I doubt it - but the emotional blackmail to save the club will be horrible. Hand over the money or YOUR club gets it.

I cannot see this ending in anything other than in tears.

If it does, the blame will lie squarely on Dave Phillips, Mervyn Balson, Val Balson, Harry Kerswell, Jill Kerswell and Angela Richards.

I would love to owe those people a grovelling apology in a few years' time, I really would.

I've no doubt that the directors are genuine fans and want the best for the club and with the lack of information out there, concerns from fans are both minimal and sporadic as they are trusted after saving the club only last year. However, as custodians of a club formed in the Victorian era, they have a duty of care to ensure its continuing survival and this sale does represent a dangerous gambit and I think it is brave of them to stay on in the public eye after they have lost control of the club unless they have negotiated something different?

Even with the best intentions from GI, a development project of this size is fraught with risk and there is no guarantee to its successful conclusion and we know that the initial negotiations have dragged on. Of course, the only asset of any note belonging to the club is Plainmoor stadium and this has gone straight onto the table for negotiation.(Surprise surprise - NOT) GI's track record does not inspire any confidence that a replacement stadium would be built and nothing I have heard so far has changed my grave misgivings on this deal in general. A debt ridden club with no ground is a real scenario in a year or two and then could only be put down. Even having a new ground with ancillary concerns may not be viable and this remains to be seen. I would love to be wrong on this. I would also love the directors to have a plan B and to not be painted in a corner from their Memorandum of Understanding if they do end up having concerns over this.

Should you actually have anything of importance for the fans of TUFC you would also represent yourself across all the forums - but you choose not to and I suspect this is simply because your selective and poorly communicated information/fabrications will be exposed and laughed whilst being immediately dismissed - therefore your importance becoming an even greater joke!

Actually, every TUFC fan has the right to express their views and the choice where to do so. You have the choice of ignoring the post or responding as you have. Does not have to be posted in any particular clique.
