Agenda for 18th January meeting is "HERE"Nothing about the Plainmoor Lease which I suspect is 6 February as reported previously. Certainly something fishy about Mr Haddock...

Rob Yes Rob, I do conclude that G.I haven't forgotten anything, and that it is certain supporters, eager to make mischief if they can, who are very much in error as they attempt to sabotage things with their unfounded rumours. Mind you, I'm sure that G.I are well aware that an avalanche of dirty tricks will be heading their way over the coming months, courtesy of the militants and their 'Ministry Of TUST' black ops department. If G.I don't put any money in it's a bad sign. If G.I do start putting money in it's a bad sign. If G.I let Nathan Blissett move to Argyle it's a worrying sign, but if they sign Kieffer Moore it's just to butter up supporters. However if they don't sign Kieffer Moore they're not demonstrating their commitment to the club, which supporters need to see. I foresee that the Militants scatter gun approach, casting negativity far and wide, will be counter productive. People will gradually switch off, as they'll know what you're going to say before you say it. We'll all end up smiling at it, plus it'll be water off a ducks back to G.I. Although the recent attempt to claim that a guy who couldn't spell 'Phillips' was actually the Club Chairman, posting on a forum, while he took a break from packing his suitcase for Australia, did provide some pre Christmas amusement. So yes, I don't think TUST will get much more than some information as to how the 5 year plan will be formulated. Though, as I say, raising doubts now, and asking baseless questions such as ' Have GI forgotten they mentioned that in their prior solitary press release?', are standard 'Ministry Of TUST' tactics, discredited many times before, and soon to be discredited again on this occasion. Just to remind ourselves of Clarke Osborne's actual words: "Over the remainder of the season we are going to have a review, the result of which will be a five-year plan.
"Everyone is going to be part of that review, including Kevin (Nicholson), supporters, business people and the local authority.
"The aim is that, by the end of the season, we will have a plan for the future which is doable."
If, Osborne instead, on 20th January, presents a finished detailed plan, completed and drawn up solely by G.I, with the promised review that would have involved others, clearly shelved, then they'll have already committed a major U turn on what they told us, and anyone intimating that Rob is a mud slinging TUST militant, will have to seriously reconsider. If on the other hand...........well then I think any remaining credibility the TUST militants had hoped to cling on to, will have drained away .

We do agree that people might 'switch off' while decisions such as those regarding the disposal of Plainmoor are considered. I would say it is not beyond the realms that a fair few who don't partake in forum hopping (where the owners, bogus poster interesting new IP addresses, imagined militants and sometimes the football itself are alluded to) won't be switched on to it in the first place. Thank you for restating the change in emphasis I raised, omitting the backfill observation and commenting on it in expected pro GI fashion, alps. If people do switch off, I'm sure they can be switched on again with a little shot in the arm of why you think our new owners are wonderful, regardless of what they do or have done. Perhaps before they have even announced it in the case of the former. As another who never did find out why you fell out of love with Chris Roberts, I hope you can find that love again for another owner. Early signs are good for your part of the deal. Re: " People will gradually switch off, as they'll know what you're going to say before you say it. We'll all end up smiling at it". That's a corker, AJ. I see you've mentioned the trust a few times. Your posts always raise a smile, though.

Rob Why ever not Rob ? . If you and Hector could be inventive enough to dream up this romance in the first place, I think the least you owe me is another fictitious tale as to why Chis and I have forsaken each other. Has Hector agreed to you giving the story this latest 'fell out of love' twist ? You've both got so tangled up in your own lies, it's little wonder you don't know where to go next with this story. Coordinate your story better if you want it to be effective. Hector's given up on trying to peddle a 'Roberts' line, and has moved on to linking myself and G.I with the Nazis ! Personally (and after all, we are up to Page 10) I think that was close enough for Godwin's Law to be invoked, and for the militants to be required to concede defeat gracefully. link - Godwin's Law

I only mention your support of Chris Roberts as history seems to be repeating itself for you with regard your view of the owners amid caution and concern of other fans. Sorry to have caused offence. I didn't smile this time and hope you continue to entertain in your usual manner, AJ. Here's an interesting and fairly objective article from a paper you like. Seems relevant given the upcoming 'disposal of Plainmoor' meeting(s) and makes no mention of when nothing is built a la GI's track record. It's all Premier League and Football League, but worth a scour. www.telegraph.co.uk/football/0/happens-next-team-moves-stadium-every-new-ground-since-1988/

link - comment from Richard Haddock that no proposal been put before them and there is a lot of speculation out there. However, the few utterances from GI have mainly been about the ground so not surprising really - talk now of meeting on 18th January? The Richard Haddock piece is the pot calling the kettle black. When things threaten Mr Haddock's business and interests he is the first to get 1. excited and then 2. militant. This is the person who locally led the fuel price protests in 2000. The are other examples of militancy and direct action but as I'm not sure of my ground I'll keep it zipped. www.theguardian.com/business/20 ... jasonburke news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/919852.stmnews.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/924574.stmIf Richard Haddock was a Torquay fan (a shame he's not) in the present situation you can bet your bottom dollar that he would be calling for action!

Referred to as militant in one of the reports. Brilliant. Finally we have one in Haddock. A proper champion of his own self interest.
Thanks for both that and the link to the online petition, gullpower.

However, the few utterances from GI have mainly been about the ground so not surprising really - talk now of meeting on 18th January? The Richard Haddock piece is the pot calling the kettle black. Why? All he's done is try to address the speculation flying around. I didn't realise he was active in the fuel protests of 2000. I remember it well but I was surprised to see that it is now more than 16 years ago. How that time flew by. As for being labeled a militant at the time by that bastion of neutrality, the BBC, they actually labeled him a 'leading light in the more militant Farmers for Action'. Let's face it, anyone that transgresses the Liberal policies of the BBC News Department, will be deemed a 'militant'. I didn't and still don't see what Haddock did then was a bad thing. What he did was tap into the then national disgruntlement over fuel prices. A much lower-level demonstration of dissatisfaction with politicians than Brexit maybe, but it woke the government up and cajoled them into getting oil production increased to put some downward pressure on oil prices. For that he should be applauded. In the HE article, he quite clearly stated that "Nothing can be decided at any committee meeting. Whatever comes out of it will be advisory and subject to the full Council." He is but one on the committee. He will have his input alongside the other 7 members. It's their job to reach a consensus and that's how it works in the public sector. GI are capitalists, no doubt, but that's how the private sector works. I am actually encouraged by Haddock's statement that "We would want the best for Torbay, and not just one organisation." From what was reported in HE, I have no reason to believe Haddock won't act even-handedly over the future of Plainmoor. And I don't think there is sufficient local feelings either way for him to tap into on this occasion. It was a long time ago Florida. What you have to remember is at the time Richard Haddock and the others were not seen as heroes of the people but as holding the country to ransom.

Flo - As has been said on here already, militant Haddock's words over full council decision and the words of Torbay Council on their own web pages that it's a mayoral decision are at odds. I'd prefer he was right. Just a hunch. Btw, you're no more a militant than our resident militant, alpine Joe. Less so, I'd say.

Number 134 just now. I don't have a problem moving from Plainmoor IF it is advantageous for the "club" over the long term and the risk of the development process is mitigated to a minimum. I think the petition is a good marker as to strength of feeling and that substantive consideration and safeguards from the local authority need to be made. It is only open to next Friday on 20th January.

First mention of talks about the freehold casually dropped in at the end of the Geoff Harrop statement, I notice.
