As I have already said, those debates are a load of bollocks! Just shouting, insults and a pack of lies from both candidates! Did you watch it? All the shouting, insults and lies came from Trump, who doesn't seem to be able to help himself. There was, admittedly, one insult from Biden, when he called Trump a clown. If anything, Biden was too passive and respectful towards the protocol of the debate, but at least he spoke mainly into the camera, as though addressing the American public. The look of disdain etched on Trump's face, his constant sneering interruptions and his disregard for the role of the moderator spoke volumes as to the kind of person he is. I doubt that you watched it. Had you done so, even you would have been unable to defend Trump's outrageous behaviour. After last night, his day is done, however much he urges his militant supporters to "stand by" before wreaking havoc when the result is known.

No I didn’t watch it...I do actually have a life.
Piers Morgan (a very astute man) watched it and said it was nothing more than a couple of old farts slagging each other off! That CNN guy (in the Mail) watched it and said pretty much the same. I didn’t watch it but had already predicted what would happen.
The thing that the three above people have in common is that we looked (or guessed) at what happened on that program in an unbiased way. Rather than someone who thinks Trump is the Anti-Christ himself and rants and raves about Trump and a situation that is happening thousands of miles away, and which will have no bearing on his life whatsoever! 🦅

Stewart Surprised that Stewart decided against informing Reg that he doesn't regard 'Racist, Liar, or Putin's Puppy' as falling within the definition of 'insult'. Careful, or I'll start to doubt your description of Channel 4 news, Stewart .

No Quote button again, how do you do that?
"Surprised that Stewart decided against informing Reg that he doesn't regard 'Racist, Liar, or Putin's Puppy' as falling within the definition of 'insult'"
I didn't actually hear Biden speak those terms (I'm being serious and not making an excuse) because he spoke in a quiet and restrained manner throughout. Wouldn't you lose patience when trying to make sensible and reasoned points but being continually shouted down by a mouthy bully?
Biden needn't have used those epithets anyway, because everyone knows that they are true, even those three people whom you have quoted who must be blinded by some absurd form of loyalty. Name calling? Despicable? What about the comment which Trump made about Biden's son? They have all conveniently overlooked that.

What about the comment which Trump made about Biden's son? They have all conveniently overlooked that. And the timing of when he did that after Biden was talking about his deceased son. Showed up Trump’s narcissism and inability for empathy. Won’t have gone unnoticed to any swing voters watching. I wasn’t able to last beyond that on the re-run. Vile behaviour.

You'll remember Alan Hinton, Stewart. I think he had white boots, similar to those of Alan Ball and Terry Cooper at the time. Wing play on that turnip patch of a pitch at the Baseball Ground was no easy matter either. He's been living in the States for many years, although retired now of course, as he's 77. I've given the quote button a good oiling, and with any luck it should be running smoothly .

Yes, I do remember Alan Hinton. Isn't it fascinating that some ex-footballers develop strange views after they retire? I'm sure that you will remember David Icke.
Right now I am baffled to the extent that my interest is being deflected from the global threat that is the liar and racist Trump. Your quote buttons appear on some of your posts but not others, and your name never appears on the list of users in the last 24 hours. As a technological dunce, I am forced to conclude, either that you do not exist at all, or that you are the doppelganger of another member who is trying to have a bit of fun, or that perhaps your account has been hacked by the militants who are trying to take over all of the football clubs in this country.

A very good post Stewart, lots of dry humour...I live in Yorkshire so I know all about that. The query about AJ being nonexistent, and on top of that you managed to get in the word militant...love it. Oh, and very little getting hot under the collar about a very sick (physically) Donald Trump! I didn’t realise changing my personal thingy below would have such an immediate effect. 😉

Should we respond as he did when Hillary Clinton collapsed with pneumonia ahead of the last US Presidential Election? As he likes to say re covid deaths, as far as him contracting it is concerned, ‘it is what it is’.

Should we respond as he did when Hillary Clinton collapsed with pneumonia ahead of the last US Presidential Election? In my view no we shouldn't. Forget the politics and his character. He is a human being with the same vulnerability as us all. We can be anything in life, but most important is to be kind.....

Eminently fair, Stefano, but not only that, if the opponents of Trump had been able to conduct themselves in anything approaching such a manner, it would surely have been to the benefit of the Biden campaign. Variations on your suggestion, had certainly been put forward. As many are already reflecting, the leopards most definitely didn't take up the invitation to change their spots.
