So Britain,the US and France did this to prevent Assad from using chemical weapons in future and the whole thing has been done for humanitarian reasons. How come then in the 1980s when Iraq used chemical weapons against Iran did the western powers do nothing? Simple, at the time Iraq and Saddam were regarded as allies of the west. The humanitarian excuse is bullshit. There are humanitarian crisis going on all over the world all of the time, but we go don't running in at the drop of a hat to sort those out. This was done solely by Trump to humiliate Russia and May joined in to try and provide some distraction from her failing leadership of the country. Very cynical line to take and things are generally not that black and white. This has been an ongoing issue since 2013 between Assad and the West with very different leaders then and we are talking of at least 50 chemical attacks with more likely up to a couple of hundred and personally seeing the bodies of dead children killed in this way disgusts me! Very different world back in the Iran \ Iraq war and thankfully large scale battlefield chemical use has not occurred since to the best of my knowledge. Of course, his (Saddam) chemical use, particularly against the Kurds came back to bite him in the butt for the second Gulf War which was a massive mistake by the West. The first Gulf war was an UN success and opened the way for further Western intervention with varying degrees of success, some of which had nothing to do with oil  |

Someone has obviously has changed my last comment as perhaps they believe that the term which I used is rude or vulgar? "Not a very nice person" is a pretty poor substitute for what I called him. Years ago I played football with a guy who even thought that calling someone a "blighter" was unacceptable. Perhaps I should have quoted one of Trump's own citizens who said, a few months ago, that he was a jerk and an ass.
However we are permitted to describe him, it's pretty clear that he is a really loose cannon who cannot be trusted with any of the nuclear nonsense, as John Cleese once put it.

Of course the main problem now is social media...the bloody speed of it! One minute Kim Jong-Un is calling you a tosser, a minute later, you're threatening to nuke his arse, and a minute after that the whole bloody planet knows about it! Years ago there was time to get all cool, calm and collected before you had to address the problem.
Shit, how many times have I woken up and said...who are you oh how I wish I hadn't said or done that last night...how different things could/would have been if I'd just reflected on it for a while!

I don't think there is any evidence that Trump is actually an Eskimo! What he is though...is different! I tire of all the same cardboard cut-outs that we see year after year after year. Who was Trump up against last election...ex president Clinton's wife...who next ~ Chelsea bloody Clinton? The American people are as sick of the same grey people as much as the British people are. Who was the last decent American President...probably Washington! Who was the last decent British Prime Minister...probably Churchill! |
