Did not gain much confidence from the interview. Big contradiction that stood out was he did not proceed with the original purchase as TUFC directors looked at another prospective buyer and he stood aside. What happened to his period of exclusivity, 99% certain to complete by the end of the season and then chose not to proceed in July due to the council not wanting to sell the freehold? Always come back to the freehold of course. Reasons for wanting to buy it was to justify improvements to Plainmoor (of course it is falling down) and control the destiny of the club. Then went on to say he had invested £500k in the club (will include the loans of course) with ongoing liabilities and talked about moving ie sounds like he wants to recoup his spend. Did not like the way he talked about the logicality of having to have another ground in place, no personal commitment to doing this or how or why this was to be achieved.

Pete Masters made out he had successfully negotiated something in terms of moving into a new stadium and not leaving us homeless. AJ reminded us of Pete 'Watertight' Masters' negotiating prowess on this site just the other week. And it wasnt on his fake news thread, either.
Quite apart from the fact Masters can't even secure that long term for a club he owns, our new owner seems to be saying all the right things about not leaving us homeless with his reply to the question at the end. He appears to view the suggestion as illogical, even.
Why did Uncle Pete even need to dig deep into his wealth of negotiation experience to persuade on that score and what could he possibly have secured? Seems that would be wholly unnecessary given, after a brief pause to remind us how much GI had spent/loaned recently, Mr. Osborne then appeared incredulous at the suggestion we might not have a stadium built and ready to move into before Plainmoor closes. Bristol's IKEA and Reading's car park should not be factored into any equation as they are mere trifling detail and of no relevance to how we may now view and trust our Chairman, of course.
He is an intelligent man. This much is clear.

On looking at the video again, he has further qualities - calculating, cold and cunning.

On looking at the video again, he has further qualities - calculating, cold and cunning. Been up in Birmingham for a few days (coming back shortly via Cardiff and Newport) - haven't seen Toady's TV show, is there any point when I do get back tonight?

From his interview and by his demeanour he clearly has no interest, enthusiasm, pride or ambition regarding TUFC other than to use it as a vehicle for other rewards.

It's not as if you've had chance to read a 'balanced' AJ version of events yet. That said, with Trump having now bombed somewhere, Article 50 and a Clarke Osborne interview in circulation, I'm slightly concerned GI Joe may have spontaneously combusted this week.
