I will not waste too much time responding to Alpine Joe and will only comment on his incessant portrayal of the official Osborne line! Therefore, I will just ask him to provide real evidence as to how, where and when a new stadium will be built - and will this be within the time scale proposed by GI or Riviera Stadiums or whoever is in charge! An update on the 5 year plan and local board would also be more than helpful!
Of more importance is how Torbay Council is run and who will decide.
It should be of no surprise that they refuse to provide any information - after all, it has often been "alleged" that the most important decisions are taken "elsewhere" and not in the Council chamber! It would be a surprise if we, the general public and Council Tax payers, were now to be kept informed! Not acceptable, but fact.

tqriviera Now this is getting confusing. Did you not read the TUFC accounts thread that appeared recently, tqriviera ? Even if it doesn't appeal much, if it's started by an Admin I think you should make the effort ! Anyway, it appears that Uncle Clarke has stated in the accounts that he is aware of ' certain material uncertainties which may cause doubt on the company's ability to continue as a going concern'However, you would learn from the thread, as I did, that I and some others have a fundamental disagreement with Clarke Osborne on this issue. In fact my position and his, so I am told, appears to be diametrically opposed. If you don't believe me, have a read: link - Alpine And Clarke At LoggerheadsJust as I was adjusting to that position, you tell me I'm back in line again . As to your questions, no evidence has been shared with me as to how, where and when a new stadium will be built. Time scales ?: bloody ages I expect, as we both know there seem to be as many people trying to stop it as there are trying to thwart or permanently delay Brexit ( same people possibly). I'm sure it was partly out of frustration that it was indicated how swiftly the job could be done if they were just allowed to get on with it, and a suitable plot of land allocated. I can see bureaucratic delay after TUST inspired bureaucratic delay holding things up for an eternity. And that's even before the Safety Advisory group complain that the proposed plastic seats are too slippery !. 5 year plan ?: coming along nicely. Local Board ?: Disaster ! My invite hasn't even arrived yet, let alone the official paperwork I'll need to sign. But I'm ready to go, and have already memorised the Osborne Oath Of Allegiance. Enjoy your weekend. AJ.

Watch out for the blackmail of "the club needs the freehold or else it will die". They might even get some local duffer in a blazer to lead the "give the club the freehold" cry and Jim Parker and Dave Thomas to back the campaign. People who say no to letting Osborne have the freehold will be painted as the ones killing the club. Divide and rule. Nailed on dead cert. As AJ points out above, it has likely already started. He’s obviously forgotten Osborne’s new stadia build record again, but readers of TFF have come to expect that by now.

I am neither a hothead or a militant. God forbid, at the age of 71 why would I be? What I do know is that we do not need a new ground. What we do need is an owner who cares about the club and its history, a general manager who knows what he is doing, and a group of players who are committed to the club, but all of these seem pie in the sky at the moment. The whole essence of the club has fallen apart during the last ten years.

The update on nothing, which comes hot on the heels of Kevin Foster’s update from Councillor Thomas, leader of the Conservative group, that it is still the case that nothing has been put forward for discussion. Others discussing Plainmoor really does appear to be the only time Osborne chooses to address us plebs, it seems. Key guff features: It will be another site and then we will ‘ then redevelop Plainmoor in some fashion’. ‘5 years’ gets a rebranding, with no mention of that 5 year plan we were all to be consulted upon. After the survey he commissioned concluded supporters were against a new stadium, this has now morphed effectively into ‘no matter what the opposition, it won’t affect my decision’, despite no evidence existing that his decision has ever led to the building of a brand new stadium on another site before. Circumstances elsewhere out of his control meant that other places were screwed over and nothing built, we learn. Poor them. There are snippets in there of investigative journalism and the BBC are not afraid to write that they could never pin the man down but certainly could do better. What about that note in the accounts? What about all the other places? Only Reading closure in 2008 and Swindon, where he first mentioned a new stadium in 1998 and still nothing but housing, get a mention. Interestingly, it appears from the wording of the article that Swindon may have an update of their own that ‘things were out of his control’. Poor Swindon. The local board that was imminent according to the Herald Developer when reporting 4/5 weeks ago was something he ‘put the lid on’ two months ago, but something will happen over the summer. Nothing to debate really as we have heard all this before and will hear it many times over yet. Poor TUFC.

There are pictures on torquayfans.com today of the grounds we will be at in Conference South. Plainmoor compared to those very favourably. To say the least. As for the other things you mention, I really hope we get all of those again some day.

I'd agree. And clearly Clarke Osborne agrees also. And yet we've had the local MP kicking up a fuss, and also the Trust wanting a meeting, when it's obvious that the message remains that the strategy isn't changing and there's nothing new to report. I suspect Riviera Macron learned nothing that he wouldn't just as easily have found out by listening to the youtube videos where Clarke Osborne sets out and explained all this many months ago.
Of most interest to me was the BBC's decision to put this out anonymously. To me it has all the the unmistakable hallmarks of Brent Putin-ick's hostility clearly shining through. For many it would lose a lot if penned by someone with established impeccable TUST quisling credentials, and the glaring omission of the writers name in this case probably tells us all we need to know.
Unfortunately for Stewart self labelling is not permitted. But his keenness to disassociate himself from the Militants (possibly in light of recent talk of pitch invasions etc) is gratifying to note.

Of most interest to me was the BBC's decision to put this out anonymously. With even GI Joe having to find alternative interest when reading more of Osborne’s regurgitated Stadia 2020 guff, comes the news that his ‘Militant’ newspaper of choice, The Daily Telegraph, is back on Osborne’s case. In an article today, their readership have a bit more about our property developing owner’s stadia-promising back catalogue of misery. The Telegraph have opted to go with crippling rents at Eastville and demolition (IKEA) and Swindon (Housing) promises since 1998 to present, as their illustration. The BBC having additionally opted for Reading (Demolition/Club Closure) yesterday. www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/04/20/sad-demise-torquay-united-may-never-return-football-league/

I think it was someone on this Forum who, only a couple of days ago made the observation that the TUST propaganda machine never sleeps. And to that extent their fanaticism has to be admired with this latest attempt at spreading an anti Uncle Clarke message. However the content will be water off a ducks back for Telegraph readers, mostly more interested in the Share Price pages. But if they do take a glance, the revelation that someone hasn't seen a lot of business sense in trying to keep open, or incredulously constructing new stadiums for, ailing and outdated sports like dog racing and speedway, will surprise them not one jot.
And in the South West we're all aware that business common sense said build a new stadium for rugby and let it thrive, and jettison speedway and it's handful of followers.
So full marks for effort by the TUST members concerned, but it's unlikely to see TUST make any headway. Think back a few months to TUST's confession that their publicly stated membership numbers left a lot to be desired as regards accuracy. It seems that those no longer willing to finance the prospect of a Far Left takeover of the football club, ripping up their membership cards and paying no more subscriptions, were conveniently left on the register of members. It now seems that TUST have taken measures to correct this misleading state of affairs. But I'm certain the fact remains that if the Home Counties and London Left in particular are excluded, along with others not in the South West and who never get to a game, that TUST's representation among the actual Plainmoor faithful would be embarrassingly low. Their message just doesn't cut through as being sensible, and I doubt TUST will initiate another pre-share issue for a very long time because of this.
There's doubtless not a single TUST Militant who can't quote Lenin on the necessity of break eggs if you want to make an omelette. And it's proved to also be the case that TUFC are going to have to take a step back before we can take those giant strides forward, both on and off the pitch, that Clarke Osborne is so diligent in arranging the finance for, backing our ambitions over forthcoming seasons. His commitment in wishing to dedicate a further 5 years to helping our club rather than opting for an easy and comfortable retirement is great news, and underpins the stability and continuity at the club that is sure to impress the Council
Rob has posted elsewhere that Clarke's inspiring message will be hitting the airwaves at about 2pm on Radio Devon. At a time when there's not been a lot of immediate good news, tuning in to hear about the brighter days ahead should be a tonic for us all.

They exist only in your rather strange mind. I have no idea what your first sentence means either.
