I am interested to hear opinions on who we would like to see replace King Kev. Personally think Mark Yates might be a good fit. Experienced at this level.

Whoever it is - this is a crucial judgement call which (for the future of the club) has to be the right one. Surely we cannot absorb much more in terms failure to consolidate and improve season upon season? We have got to start moving up the table and gathering a positive momentum in order to remove the shroud of disappointment that has surrounded the club over the past 5-6 years.

This is an absolute f**k up of a nightmare. Leaving aside any thoughts of GIs real intentions for the club, we have to contend with owners who know SFA about football. Had we had a football savvy ownership Nicholson would gone in May at the latest instead we now have have to find a new manager when most suitable candidates have just started the new season with newly assembled squads. All that is left for us are the unemployed and the unemployable. Don't get me wrong, Nicholson deserved to go because he proved inept as a manager and didn't help his case by signing a player during the close season who was clearly injured when we bought him (ie Davies). GI lack of footballing nous is demonstrated by the fact that they kept Nicholson on simply because they thought he had fan backing. And the fans are not blameless because they supported Nicholson despite his poor record, and it was poor. To GI it must have appeared that we, the supporters didn't care about a winning team as long as the manager was popular. I have no idea what is to come next. I am actually surprised Nicholson was sacked because I didn't think GI cared about the on field aspect. But please let's have no more ex- players, local managers etc. We need experience at this level of running a low budget squad.

What about Sol Campbell? Apparently he is looking to get into management but having difficulty finding a club. I am guessing he will have a number of useful contacts.

What about Sol Campfbell? Apparently he is looking to get into management but having difficulty finding a club. I am guessing he will have a number of useful contacts. The last thing we need is another rookie. Campbell may have been a top class player but that doesn't mean he will be even a half competent manager. Football history is littered with top players who couldn't hack it in management; billy wright, bobby Moore, bobby Charlton, Gary Neville and so on.

Not to mention Sir Stanley Matthews who was disgraced during his managerial career. No more club "legends," former players and managers (excepting Leroy). This appointment should show us GI's intent. Will it be a five year plan to take the club to a higher level or a run the club into the ground and buy Plainmoor plan? If there isn't any funding to buy players and improve the playing staff then we need a coach who is known to make players better, is tactically aware and a good man manager. Someone who is proven at different levels. It really is time a club took a punt on Stephen Constantine. Show some ambition TUFC.

Good call on Stephen Constantine. ..but as he apparentry turned down an offer from Port Vale I doubt very much we can entice him to Plainmoor. No harm in trying I guess.

On Saturday evening the manager, assistant manager and first team coach of hungerford town resigned en masse. Sounds to me that they have something lined up somewhere.

Any news on this subject (FACTS)? We need a new manager asap to steady the ship and give leadership and guidance to the team. For example Cardiff were in trouble last season who did the club call not a rookie but Neil Warnock.Same as Birmingham who gonna call well it was that famous goal buster Arrry Redknapp.Come on United pull your finger out get a experienced, manager in quickly! Get the team up and ready for the challenges ahead ( lots of those).I don't think the squad need to be changed that much, tweaked and say one experienced player in. It can be done The Loyal Torquay Fans deserve better we've had it " rough " for a few seasons now (the tension/ excitement) of avoiding relegation should be replaced with challenging for a play off place or even promotion. BELIEVE.

Not sure what the point of sacking Nico would be in that scenario!
