I will not lose interest in Torquay United Football Club as long as it exists. Although I have obviously not enjoyed us being consistenly crap for five years, what has really pissed me off in the last few years has been the off-the-field manoeuvering which has left the club in such a perilous position. It is not National League South in itself that I fear, it is not having a club to support at all.

It looks like we are relatively spoilt for choice this week. We just about had 16 last week so one out three in means we have 18 to choose from.

I did think Owers was going to switch to 4-4-2 (I suggested that last week and I was wrong!) as we signed a winger, but we now seem to have signed a right wing back.

I would expect Barnes and Davis to be wing-backs with Balatoni in the centre and Efete and McGinty in their best positions right and left side of the back three.

That would mean no wingers, but I think Mitchell can play through the middle so would not be surprised to see him up front or maybe even "in the hole". Lots of choice numbers-wise for the "front five" but we still seem to lack the two players Owers identified that we need - someone who can hold the ball up up front and a combative midfielder, so not sure how effective any combination can be. I think Fletcher has bags of potential, but it is probably unfair on him to start him up front without a proper partner, so he may just get 15 minutes off the bench.

Although some were hailing the tactical genius of Owers in playing three at the back - or rather using it as a tired excuse to lambast Kevin Nicholson for not playing three at the back - the fact is that you tend to win games when you play well and lose games when you play badly, no matter how much people like me bang on about the importance of formations.

As Jon says I to would never lose interest in the club no matter what state its in.
Normally I would be on my way to the ground right now but just cannot face another poor gutless humiliating display and more than likely another beating.
Another hodgepodge group of players enter the fray to try and cure some impossible problems.
Its highly unlikely we will survive the drop now so win lose or draw it makes little difference what the result is today.
Hope its a good game for those who attend and hope we win of course.
