I said in December we were gone! I would have booted owers out then, shows how much of a bad job mr Harrop has done. I could identify where we were crap and would have replaced at least 8 of the squad in key positions in January. We might have survived had something been done at the right time but no that was never going to happen with a club run by morons!

Driving home in torrential rain last night I was surprised the game was on and the only improvement at the club this season has been the pitch. We had a slim chance of staying up but after the last 2 games that looks like it is now gone and that hurts. Leaving aside the end game for the owner, while money has been put in the club, as Aussie says, it was put in too late to turn the club around partly due to inadequate leadership structures at the club and was a waste in retrospect. Now, how will that debt be used in the future? Look at all the money CO has spent to get us relegated.

That defending was painful to watch. Desperately unlucky that their scorer got played onside for the first one, but Josh Gowling is left for dead for the second. Josh might have been OK stood on someone's toes in the centre waiting for the ball to come in, but as for picking up, and then hoping to stay with someone nippy who's intent on arriving late.....well no chance, and not even able to grab a sleeve to stop his man. The third goal the worst of the lot...and defies explanation as to how the guy could get time and space without any of our defenders within two arms length.
A tough night for old Josh by the looks of it. A quality player who knows where to be and what to do, but are his knees up to carrying him to where he needs to be on a heavy pitch on a Saturday, and then another difficult surface on Tuesday evening. That's even before deciding whether you want to drag him out of bed the next day for go-karting. I remember that the great Paul McGrath (of the dodgy knees) did virtually no training at all at Aston Villa in order that he could still play in matches. If Josh is under contract then we need to look after him the best we can. But to realise our best hope of still getting good performances out of him is to accept that he can't be an ever present, and that his preparation might have to differ from that which might suit others.

Interesting point, AJ. Although I’m struggling with the comparison to McGrath on a particular level. As McGrath was an absolutely incredible footballer. We have generally played better when Gowling has been in the team, however.
Plenty of debate on who to keep among the various sites. The knee jerk appears to be “get rid of the lot”, although Owers’s signing record to date is atrocious and an Osborne ‘promotion budget’ loan against the club probably means we’ll be stuck with a Manager who has failed rather than paying him off this time.
The most ‘wanted’ appear to be Dorel and securing Romain. Others add Young. A few Williams and Davis. I would like to think two year deals weren’t just weighted in favour of the player on relegation, but we are a shambles on and off the pitch so that is doubtful.
I would ‘keep’ Dorel, Romain, Davis, McGinty, Young and Williams. That is 3 too many for most posters on BTPIR, many of whom appear keen to entrust Owers with signing another twenty players, whilst concluding that of the 21 he has signed to date, only Romain has been any good. Of my 6, I expect all could get deals above the level Osborne, Harrop and Owers have taken us to.
Torquayfans.com takes a more measured approach toward players and wants Owers out, in the main. It’s something else to talk about amongst the current sea of shit, though.
In the push for sustainable success, Osborne will be working on what he can secure his loans against while Skyping Geoff Harrop to find out if any letters have arrived from the Council. We still won’t have either a 5 year plan or fans forum and the HE will publish a Pravda style exclusive with Osborne every couple of months with talk about local boards, 5 year plans and Stadia 2020.
An exciting new chapter awaits. Whether Gowling’s dodgy knees play a part remains to be seen.

My view is that we will have the same clowns in charge next season that relegated us, that are tasked with getting us promoted. I will be there next season.

Am reading elsewhere that the Council have denied access to a Freedom of Information request re discussions on the Plainmoor freehold stating that discussions on this are ‘exempted from the right of access’.
I think it will be away matches only until or unless that exemption is removed and no clicks on Devon Live until Clarke Osborne and that exemption is properly reported on by local media, for me.
