A couple of more good signings and we may end up being competitive. Will reserve judgement until seen a few PSF’s!

The building blocks for the promotion push seem to be slotting into place. A nice mixture with some interesting younger names being introduced. We also have the all important experience in defence, midfield and attack, with the likes of Davis, Hall, and Williams. A competent goalkeeper that would give confidence to the fans as well as the players in front of him, would be an addition than we're all hoping to welcome in the near future.
While we can congratulate the Chairman for making the necessary funds available, it will have been up to Owers and Khul to use the available cash wisely. I'm certainly looking forward to the new season, not that I'm in any hurry to see an exciting World Cup tournament draw to a close.

I will reserve judgement until the 31st August and if we are not in the top three playing well, I trust Mr Osborne will dispense with the services of Curly, Mo and Larry (having the sense to have someone already lined up).
Any news on the stadium?

Wise thoughts - on balance I believe squad quality has been improved but not yet the final package. Progress can only be judged upon results and that will be the time to give marks out of 10 for Owers. Currently risen from 5 to around 61/2?

Agree with that totally and would add that I wont be getting carried away with any pre-season friendly performances - good, bad or indifferent! Its more than just individual player quality they have to have a system that works and form a chemistry on the pitch. You only have to think back to the Buckle era- Sills, Carlisle - Hargreaves etc to realise that.
As always in pre season the cards are thrown into the air and its a gamble how they all land . Owers basically has to gel a pack of strangers in a few short weeks so who knows?

Apologies if already mentioned, but what's happening about the 'keeper position?
Did hear a rumour of a 6 month loan for a youngster from Portsmouth.

Yet again the club is not being particularly good on the communication front. The surge of signings has dried up and lots of fans will be wondering if we can scrape a team together for FGR. No doubt we will but the club is not helping itself much.

I do admire your enthusiasm simon, but often wonder whether you're a lone voice, or one of a exceedingly small minority when hoping for things like a feature length documentary being put out by the club examining the intricacies of the drainage system at Seal Hayne. And the same goes for next Tuesday. Half way through Wimbledon fortnight, and football fans for the most part will be glued to their television screens watching a World Cup semi final unfold. How many will even know that there's a kickabout taking place on the Plainmoor pitch? Personally I'd invite Tim Sills back for a guest appearance and ask him to wear the mask. He's played in goal for us at a higher level that NLS, and it might add about 10 to the crowd. It's a glorified training session without very much of the 'glorified'.
In the week before our first league match, maybe 'lots' of fans will then be showing an interest in our proposed line up for Chelmsford away. But the meaningless stroll in the sun on Tuesday evening will pass most people by....including supporters, who start thinking about football again only after their Summer holidays are over.

Can't speak for Simon, but I'd be happier if we had the basis of a 'promotion team' in place, with a bit of fine tuning to come. I stand by my comment, if were not in the top three by the end of August I will be dusting off my pitchfork...
