NLS: Gloucester City v Torquay United 3pm 27/08/18

I've reposted thoughts before Saturday's game as we have the same sixteen to choose from. I hope nobody suggests we should pitch young Olaf into such a toxic atmosphere.

Back 7 picks itself. Wynter has obviously had the confidence beaten out of him by Owers, but don't think we can drop him as we have no defensive cover at all.

4-3-3 with Williams on his own was very predictably a disaster. Everyone could see that - apart from one unfortunately.

Of the eight candidates for four places, only Keating showed anything positive at all. He isn't really that good a player, but stands head and shoulders above the other seven.

I would start Regis in centre-midfield as we are craving someone there with pace and energy. I doubt if Regis is the answer and do not expect Owers to get any more out of him than the others that have given up on him - but there is nobody else. I would play Bawling right wing - a less bad option than Banton (does not try) or Reid (tries, but....). Dickson out left.

Williams up top with Keating. He has been terrible this season, but although I am not his biggest fan (too quick to hide and sulk) he has not been given a chance to play his natural game this season running about on his own. When played to his strengths, he might snap out of his lethargy - but it might take a better manager to make that happen.

No doubt gloucester city are shaking in their shoes having watched a video of our world beaters who come to town today or pissed themselves laughing

I was there  .  Would have estimated sometime between the very late 80's and mid 90's, so am pleased to learn the exact date. I vaguely remember sitting on a high bank looking down on the pitch, and having an elevated view almost better than Bristow's Bench offers. It seems that Evesham have since moved to a new ground though.

One point outside the play-offs, so a draw will keep us well in contention this afternoon. Even better, if we could get a win then it's right back into the thick of the promotion battle. Injuries mean there's no scope for wholesale changes in personnel, so Owers will be relying on delivering an inspirational team talk to send his troops out in 'up and at 'em' mood for this one.

With Billericay in turmoil, it's a good chance for club's like ours, where everyone is pulling in the same direction, to capitalise and make up ground. I think it was big Niate who said in Saturday's programme, that our lads are a 'Band Of Brothers'. It's that marvellous togetherness and team spirit that we'll need to call on to pull us through this afternoon.

I do hope the squad or anyone going set off early M5 this side of Bristol totally gridlocked for miles and miles and hardly moving an hour ago.
Thing is Its so hopeless now I have given up even thinking of a good result/ performance and goals.
I don't believe there are any forwards at the club that can make a difference whatever formation Owers plays.
Reckon many are feeling the same.

I bet the manager situation is pissing osborne right off he was probably hoping and praying the club doing well would smokescreen his real intent instead its done the opposite.Lets not forget we are in real danger if osborne doesnt get what he really wants pulling the plug on us wouldnt bother him one bit

This is one of those games where it doesn't matter if we win, lose or draw...how long has it been since we have been able to say that! 


The manager is going nowhere, so what does it matter...'cause neither are we!
