This was like an episode of Dr Who! If you blink, the weeping angels get you! In this case, if you blink we get a new manager! Of course this is down to our Benefactor and Saviour...Clive Osborne! Who yet again, has dug deep into his pocket to sort the managerial problem out! Does his love for the club know no bounds? You all joined me last time, so again I ask for a rousing cheer for the wonderful Clive Osborne! Hip Hip...

Learning curve after the utter shambles of the last managerial appointment both in time taken to appoint and the quality of the candidate with a proven track record which ultimately led to our relegation,
I would expect Johnson to get a lot more out of our players and of course there is a lot of time to still turn things around this season.

Old Clive's done good! An unexpected and speedy appointment. I'm so war weary these days that I find it difficult to get to carried away with whatever positive news comes out of the club. The appointment can only be described as "As good as we could have possibly hoped for" but he is at the tail end of a successful career and has had recent health issues. You have to reserve judgement even with this appointment but I do now see a glimmer of hope that things may turn around for our club thats been stuck in a cycle of failure and demise for far to long. I wish Gary Owers good health and happiness but he was never going to find an answer to the same problems that plagued us last season. This wasn't a time to gamble again on another ex player or unproven manager and fortunately, I hope, for us Its fallen into place that he became available when he did. Gary Johnson has proved countless times that he knows how to create a winning side - lets hope he can do it one more time. Some very complementary comments on the Cheltenham Town Robins Nest forum. Encouraging to read for a man that's just been sacked. Worth a read. www.robinsnestforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25510

At last the club seems to be showing some ambition. Looks like a great appointment...hopefully this will be a turning point in the club's history. Looking forward to the next few weeks...haven't said that for a while! Welcome Gary and the best of luck.

Mmm.... "The new Gulls boss also revealed that he has spoken to Gary Owers and wants to use his knowledge to his advantage" Double mmm. Strikes me as a sensible ‘no stone left unturned’ approach toward player assessment. Ultimately he’ll make up his own mind thereafter, as that’s what he’s paid for.
