After our last substantial win in this competition and the improvements to the squad I think most will be looking forward to this game but it is an away Cup game and a banana skin to avoid.
The 3-4-3 against Woking for the last 20 minutes worked well but probably not the best formation to start although most of the outfield players that finished that game have a good shout to begin this match.
Questions to answer - who starts with Reid? Janneh , Willliams or Keating? Now Essuman and Niate are fit do we play 3 defenders at the back with Andrews and Davis as Wing backs or 4-4-2 . Would Wynter get a start in that line up?
Nailed on to start? - MacDonald, Davis, Cameron, Sendles-White, Edwards, Andrews, Reid, Lemonheigh-Evans and Hall

Would Wynter get a start in that line up? Nailed on to start? - MacDonald, Davis, Cameron, Sendles-White, Edwards, Andrews, Reid, Lemonheigh-Evans and Hall Wynter is ill and unavailable. These 16 are those available according to elsewhere. But I think Lemonheigh-Evans is also available. MacDonald, Burton; Cameron, Koue Niate, Sendles-White, Davis, Edwards, Hall, Andrews, Reid, Keating, Williams, Banton, Wright, Janneh, Essuman. Of that 17, I reckon Burton, Essuman, Keating, Janneh and Banton/Wright will start on the bench. One of Banton or Wright won’t go at all, as Johnson has said he is taking 16. Am guessing Wright may miss out rather than Banton. Midfield three of Hall, Andrews and Lemonheigh-Evans. Reidy and Williams up top. Agree with you about those nailed on to start.

I would love to see that midfield three and without Wynter maybe wing backs are the way to go?

Yes, it will be interesting to see if we go 3-5-2 or 4-4-2, but in effect the two formations almost merge into each other.
If we go 4-4-2, Davis will get forward a lot more than the right back. The remaining three defenders will shuffle over to cover. Edwards will hug the line on the right and Andrews will drift inside as Davis overlaps outside him.
If we go 3-5-2, Edwards will play a more attacking role than Davis and the three centre backs will shuttle across to fill in behind him. Andrews will drift left to find space.
So 4-4-2 easily morphs into 3-5-2 and vice versa.
Big choice is Niate or Essuman at the back. I think Niate is the better player, but he is more at home in the centre, so would push Sendles-White over to right back or right centre back. If Essuman got the nod, he would take the right back or right centre back role leaving Sendles-White free to play in a more central role.
Lots of choice up front. I think Reid will start after his two goals on Saturday. I think Janneh will be on the bench, tasked with stretching a tiring defence in the last twenty minutes. Wright may or may not be the sixth man on the bench. That leaves a choice of Keating or Williams to start - with the other likely to get some game time from the bench.
It will be a tough game, but we should have enough to come through.

link - teams are out, Niate in defence and Janneh up front in addition to the nine nailed on starters. Interestingly, only 4 on bench as Williams is on leave for the birth of son. - Essuman, Keating, Burton and Wright - link

Confirmation on Twitter that we are playing in a 3-5-2 formation although I guess Edwards is playing the more attacking role as per Jon’s thoughts earlier. Apparently we are retaining a lot of possession which I think will bode well going into the last half an hour

It will be a tough game, but we should have enough to come through. Isn’t it nice to be able to expect to win the kind of games that we should be expected to win?
