So the coldest winter in seventy years has finally arrived...two weeks away from spring!

I think it's fairly obvious who puts up the nonsense about cold winters...*** **********!

The picture is of Chaka, my only Male Border Collie...he's a Bonny Lad. 

He is also the reincarnation (yes, another reincarnation...get over it) of my last dog Sam, who was a King Charles, poor bugger!

I could go into greater detail about his reincarnation, but that would involve talk of Hungry Ghosts...Karma...and a chance meeting in a freezing barn one Christmas Day! 

A lot easier to just put up a smillie face.

These demands for the removal of statues and TV programmes are going one step beyond ridiculous.

You are of course right, Stewart, but the process of transforming Britain is well under way,
and it’s when some of its adherents do things that make their intentions a bit too obvious, such as spray painting Churchill or climbing the cenotaph to set light to the flags, that we become more conscious of this, but it’s going on more surreptitiously all over the place, and at an ever quickening pace……to the extent that we’ll be lucky to reach the start of the new season before the council have instructed the club to rename the ground ‘Floydmoor’.

Yesterday, just reading about the aggression that JK Rowling is currently subjected to, illuminates the type of ongoing changes that otherwise wouldn’t be making the news had a bit of current celebrity controversy not been the main feature:

So now it’s a black woman called ‘Blackman’, a homosexual singer, a black nurse, and a successful female wheelchair racer.

Commendable though they may all be, the overriding aim, as always, is the eradication of the straight white male from the younger generation’s consideration of who is worthy to be looked up to or admired.

Laughing at heterosexual white Basil Fawlty with his traditional values is no longer enough, now we must have progressed to hating him. To find his views, words and opinions so offensive that he must be silenced.

Basil will be erased from our memories, and for the next generation they will only know that he was a symbol of hate, a cultivator of racial division, and an exponent of white superiority who bullied and physically assaulted his foreign born low paid employees.

The pain and anguish that a young snowflake would suffer by being subjected to 30 minutes of Fawlty Towers, joins the same gut wrenching distress they were overcome by, as they walked past Colston’s statue during their last shopping trip to Bristol.

We’ll be two, three,and four steps beyond ridiculous in the blink of an eye, and with the Police Force on their knees, we’ll reach double figures pretty quickly too.

It is nice to see that this TFF forum can hold it's head up as a shining example of what a club supporters forum should be.

Mostly club and general football matters discussed, and when it does veer off into current affairs / politics it is sensible and balanced.

The older forum of the 3 seems to have become the flat earth society, with COVID-19 conspiracy theories dominating and many posters having deserted in droves because it is difficult not to be frightened off!

The newest of the 3 forums is now dominated by hate filled propoganda which takes no account of truth or fact and drives through only one point in a manner that even George Orwell when writing 1984 would have considered to be over the top. It is basically a forum for fascists and fascist views. They would not see that of course as they do not want to but it was correctly predicted by Churchill, that the next fascists would be from the left and that they would portray themselves as anti-fascists but would in fact be fascists themselves. In posting this on here it is in response to stewart's sensible observation, and in doing so I am saying nothing behind anybody's back as this forum is trawled on a daily basis - exclusive football stories are taken back and portrayed without an acknowledgement and anything perceived as nasty is reported back to the disciples. This is very mild compared to some recent things I have posted on the new forum in recent weeks as anybody who has still got the patience to view it occasionally would testify.

Congratulations to rob as by running this forum consistently as a traditional club supporters forum and sticking to those principles the TFF is streets ahead of the other two.

Football wise I haven't really got anything to say as we don't know how things will pan out. Club finances is the biggest worry and whether we will even survive. Our finances were not in good shape when things were going along as normal, so these are indeed very worrying times. It is an opportunity for the football authorities to take a radical look at the whole structure of association football to progress things for the benefit all clubs once this virus situation has eventually passed over. I think there is a very strong case for regional leagues below the top two tiers of the professional game, notwithstanding it makes little difference either way to Torquay United because of our geographical position but I am sure it would be of benefit to the majority of clubs.

I would love to be able to congratulate Plymouth Argyle on promotion to League One but just can't bring myself to do so so I won't!

The episode was removed because of the use of the W and N racial slurs by the Major earlier in the episode , not the 'don't mention The war dialogue.  The whole episode is about making bigots look stupid but is a victim to the knee jerk reaction that has happened over the past week.
If we want to rid society of everything that has even the remotest connection to racism and slavery then perhaps we should consider closing down all mosques since Mohammed was a slave owner. 
Some will say that statement is racist but it is consistent with the removal of statues of slavers.
We are embarking on a kulturkampf and the results will be unpredictable. In my view it is wrong to single out historical individuals as racist because of views they held. Those individuals were shaped by the morals, values and knowledge of a past age, and cannot be judged by the standards of the present.
