Didn't want to put this on the Leroy thread and demean it. Gareth Southgate is also up for a gong! What for...looking like a tramp in a waistcoat!!! Along with worthy recipients (Leroy) you get so many that aren't. Sir Shifty being one! Now they want to honour Southgate...who next...Beckham!!! Southgate is like the Kardashians! GET ME OFF THIS PLANET! Get me off this planet (1) I see that the vegans are at it again! This time it's shearing sheep! According to the vegans, shearing sheep is cruel! Sigh!  I live in a fairly remote part of Yorkshire, and I'm surrounded by sheep farmers and their sheep! There are literally thousands of sheep in the hills around me. No one is quite sure how many, because every time they want to count them, the people they send out keep falling asleep for some reason! Every Summer, the sheep get sheared. If they didn't get sheared that would be cruel! They would overheat for one. Who in their right mind walks around in a woollen coat in the summer? After that they get dipped...don't tell me...that's cruel also! If they didn't get dipped, they would get a shitload of diseases...fly/tick etc. I'm a vegetarian, because of my Buddhist beliefs. Where do they find these vegans though? Everyone is so obnoxious and self-righteous...what next I wonder?  Get me off this planet (2) We will have all seen the news about the ISIS bride who wants to return home! She has been blocked from doing so, and quite rightly too! Of course the person who blocked her (Javid?) has been labelled a racist! It seems that you can murder/rape/torture, men women and children, cut the heads off poor defenceless aid workers and news correspondents, but this fades into trivia wants the word Racist has been used! To quote Arnie...She'll be back!  Get me off this planet! |

Well, I must admit, that wasn't remotely interesting! Both the main parties losing seats...expected! Lib-Dems winning seats...no one else to vote for! Brexit Party...there was no Brexit Party! So all in all, a complete waste of time! End of the month, we move to the EU elections...where there is a Brexit Party!  |

Long Live King Rama
As most of us are more familiar with Vanarama than King Rama, these good wishes to the new King of Thailand are best added to Reg's quiet corner of TFF. There's also a corner of Sheffield that is forever Thailand, and Reg himself will be quick to confirm that Theravada Buddhism is the official religion of that great country.
With the final Championship matches having taken place today (excluding the play-offs), I decided to take a look at Wednesday's official site to see how things ended up. Little mention of the match at all, as King Rama X seems to have dominated proceedings. The website giving pride of place to the Chairman's grateful thanks:

The coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn is taking place in Thailand, which was marked at Hillsborough by generous Wednesdayites.
The royal anthem of Thailand ‘Sansoen Phra Barami’ and ‘Sadudee Jom Racha’ specifically composed for the new king, were played during the ceremony while supporters paid their respects. Mr Chansiri said: “I wish to thank every supporter inside the stadium before the kick-off who showed so much respect for the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
“Once more, this showed me the heart and spirit of Sheffield Wednesday fans.
“The official coronation is taking place in Bangkok but to see this special occasion celebrated in my second home of Sheffield means so much to myself, my family and the people of Thailand.
“Thank you, from my heart.”
But for the full colour and spectacle of the occasion you need the 7 minute video, which also takes pride of place on the website. The music early on is a bit sombre, but a real foot tapper soon emerges, then there's Steve Bruce and the people of Sheffield, all sending their best wishes. That replica shirt with King Rama X will be in the post as soon as the Bank Holiday is over. Those dastardly Blades may be embarking on life in the Premier League, but it's Wednesday who can boast that King Rama is an Owls fan.

A lot of bemused people in that crowd! Still, most of the youngsters there have the attention span of my left Testicle...unless of course they're looking at a shot of WKD Blue! I would imagine most of the crowd didn't even know there was a King of Thailand!
Although he (King Rama) may be looked upon with bewilderment by the Owls fans, he will be revered as a God by the people of Thailand!
Indeed it is Theravadan Buddhism that is practiced in that part of the world. In Tibet, it is known as 'The Lesser Vehicle ' much to the disgust of the people who practice it! Basically, it means you get your act together, and get 'yourself ' to Enlightenment!
In Tibet, they practice (as do I) Mahayana Buddhism, 'The Greater Vehicle.' Which means not only do you want to get yourself Enlightened, but more importantly, you want to Enlighten all beings where ever they are in Samsara!
It ain't easy! 😁

Meghan though, has decided the child will be 'Gender Fluid!' Let me give you a tip here Meghan...if the child has a 'Willy'...in all likelihood it's a boy, and will remain so for the rest of it's days! ...if the child has a 'Jack and Danny'...in all likelihood it's a girl, and will remain so for the rest of it's days! Honeymoon over...sod off back to America! 😁 |
