When we last played Welling on December 8 we had just gone top of the table beating Dartford four days previously and faced a team 2nd to us both in the league and form table and with them having two games in hand, it was a good home win for us to consolidate our position at the top of the league from which we haven’t looked back since.
Since this time, Welling have had to reduce the size of their squad due to budget cut backs, getting rid of some of their best players and as such their form has been inconsistent and although they are still in the play-offs, are no longer challenging at the top end of the league. Having said that they do have a good home record, being used to playing on their sloping pitch and just had a good one nil win at Oxford city on Tuesday so are still very dangerous.
It was an emphatic win for us on Tuesday so at least we travel up both full of confidence and focused on the job at hand. During that game Kalala came back from injury but only as a substitute but I think still managed to provide an assist. Is he fit enough to start or will he feature from the bench again? Otherwise, I cannot see any other changes in a team that has fired home eleven goals in the last 2 games. The injury to Janneh turned out to be stomach cramps from eating poorly prior to the game so thankfully he is fine and hopefully we can add to our amazing run of 12 wins in 13 games!

No doubt the chasing pack of Woking, Bath and Chelmsford will be desperate for a Welling result today and with Woking at home to bottom club WSM we need a result today to keep the pressure on and maintain the gap. No to sure who GJ is thinking of resting but Jennah took a knock when he scored and was unwell before KO. I cant see any changes unless there are strains or injuries we don't know about. Confidence and belief is sky high. Hopefully our quality will shine through and despite Welling having the best home record they also have one of the worst away records so have vulnerabilities that GJ will no doubt try and exploit. Another interesting fixture.

Not too sure who GJ is thinking of resting but Janneh took a knock when he scored and was unwell before KO. Janneh is fit. Johnson mentioned he went down as he had eaten too near to kick off and had a dodgy stomach. My guess is he won’t change the side, but Koue Niate and Kalala are decent replacements for Sendles-White and Keating should he choose to do so. Bench looked really strong for the Hemel match and will be today, with only Edwards unfit with that recurring thigh strain he hasn’t been able to shake off.

The juries out on Sendles White hes done ok but Niate was better and more of a goal threat at set pieces before injury in my opinion. I would imagine GJ also needs to keep the squad happy and match fit so I wouldn't be surprised if that was one change he may be tempted to make. Kalala who offers more of a threat than Keating will also be pushing for a start though Keating is better at tracking back and works his nuts off. Whatever he wont be making changes for the sake of it that's a dangerous game to play and one I'm certain GJ one he is well aware of.

1 down on 45minutes - bad time to concede. Four teams below us all ahead 1-0 !!

1 down on 45minutes - bad time to concede. Four teams below us all ahead 1-0 !! And then another the other side of half time. 2-0. Niate and Kalala brought on straight after. Sendles-White and Andrews hooked off. Welling are frustrating us and scrapping. We’ll get a lot of that from the better sides we still have to play.

Not at it today by the sound of it and Welling have done their homework. Need to get a goal quickly and the tide could turn though Welling will know how to frustrate and waste time.

Our record this season against the sides from 2nd to 6th place isn’t very good at all. Draws and defeats in the main with a couple of home wins. P7 W2 D3 L2
Woking 2 up. Chelmsford winning. Cameron will get a one match ban for Dulwich Hamlet home game, I think. It’s 7 days before suspension in this League.

Out battled by the sounds of it and the ref sounds like a card happy arse. To many players off the boil by the sounds of it we didn't seem to create much. Gonna happen at certain points in the season it happened to Woking a few of games a go. We just have to ride the storm and come back stronger. No goal scored for the first time under GJ. Shows how quickly the situation can change and why I'm not getting ahead of myself. In a way it just emphasises that we cannot be complacent with teams below us ready and waiting to pounce.
They will all be jumping for joy tonight particularly Woking who will make up their game in hand in midweek and more than likely top the table.

Disappointing result but no time to panic. GJ will sort it out.
