Bit of a strange one this week with the Gary Johnson press conference split between the Torquay United video and the Devon Live yellow army podcast with just a small overlap between the two; Torquay United Official TVYellow Army PodcastTeam news is that Opi and Asa are now very close but looking at Little are unlikely to be rushed back and could well get a first run out at the Bristol friendly next week. Joe Lewis has been called up to the Wales under 21 squad away at Moldova but Niate is now fit to provide defensive cover with Cundy and Cameron forming a productive partnership. Reid took a knock on his knee but is fit. Notts County are much improved with new additions coming in since the start of the season and this should be a cracking game! COYY

Pre season promotion favorites Notts County will be a tough affair. The oldest club in world football have under performed for many seasons and will be looking for a quick return to the football league. Relegation to non league must have been a bit of a shock but they look to be turning their fortunes around and I feel they will be strong contenders and come May will be there or there abouts. On the plus side we know we have the weapons to compete and beat anyone in this division on our day though NC will be favorites going into the match and its important that we start well and set a the pattern. Bench is beginning to look a little stronger thankfully and hopefully JR will be fit enough to start. It would be a major problem if we lost him for any number of games not sure who would be able to play that role. We would be decidedly weaker without his threat. Thankfully Jamie is rarely injured and is a tough lad physically. Both sides have scored plenty of goals so I hope our defenders are tuned right in from the start or we could be in trouble.
For what its worth it has score draw written all over it but we all know how unpredictable this division is...

I sense that our defence will have to cope with some strong pressure tomorrow afternoon and i would happily take a draw if offered ! Looking forward to this game and a safe jouney to all those travelling by road and rail.

The oldest club in world football have under performed for many seasons and will be looking for a quick return to the football league. Notts County's claim to fame, apart from winning the FA Cup in 1894, was that they were the oldest professional League club in the world having been founded in 1862. The oldest extant club in the world is Sheffield FC who were founded in 1857 and they officially recognised at such by FIFA. Sheffield FC are one of only two clubs to hold the FIFA Order of Merit, the other is Real Madrid.

link - brief interview with Jake talking about both the Ebbsfleet and Notts County games. Seeing the amount of rain we have had today and forecast for tomorrow pretty glad we are a) away and b) not ground sharing!

Or did Sheffield FC pack in because they had nobody to play?

You are not impressed by my claim that Torquay United were formed in 1856 then? torquayfansforum.co.uk/thread/7296/football-torquay-1862?page=2

Sheffield FC are still going strong in the Northern Premier League Div.1 east, the highest level they have ever played in. It should read extant in your quotation of my post not extinct.

Disappointing of course but this season will have plenty of twists and turns. No one club has yet to really stand out, dominate or look like they will walk away with it. Barrow Halifax Bromley and Yeovil have all shared top spot and Woking, early season front runners haven't won a game for ages and today missed out on three points in the 96th minute after being two goals up.
We know exactly where we are as a team and would argue that our league position is just about accurate from what we have produced up until now. Up to the manager and whatever resources he has at his disposal to tweak without regressing - a difficult task but knowing him he will be doing all in his power to get more consistency.

Clearly need Duku to find some form. GJ knows the player so hopefully will get the best out of him soon.

Can't understand why three NL matches were postponed today. How many people did they think would travel by train from Dover to Barrow?
