Nice to see Vincent at the ground yesterday, along with Buse actually, wearing one of those protective foot guards. Frank still needs minutes to get fully match fit and will be available if one of the other loanees breaks down. Sounds like he re-signed just before the premiership deadline and he is very much part of our squad and suspect he will have a big part to play. CLE was taken off as a precaution yesterday after taking a knock on the knee but Johnson confirmed this was only precautionary.
Our bug bear this season has been goals conceded so nice to get those two successive clean sheets and with it those wins. I suspect that will mean we will continue with the existing wing back formation as our central defenders work well together as a three and if we keep it tight we are more likely to get that all important win and get a run going where we can challenge.
Talking of runs, still 6 points off the final play off place but now within striking distance of the teams above us with some games in hand, two in the case of Stockport who sit in seventh place so the season is by no means over yet....

A horrible game of football in dreadful conditions. We are looking much more solid defensively with three central defenders all looking more comfortable. Even when were not really at it we still always seem to maintain our tempo and work ethic and that's what saw us through yesterday. Joe Lewis, my MOM hes improving with every game. Lucky to have two keepers of a decent similar standard - a couple of flaps but did well coming in from the cold. Right wing back area is a dilemma though and maybe Wynter would be a better bet on the right - Whitfield has done well but is less offensively effective in that role. Namane has something about him that makes me think he will be here next season. A short cameo but reminded us of his potential. Kalala missed out on game time again though not surprised he would have struggled to impress on that heavy boggy pitch. Chorley were poor but worryingly passed it better and won most of the midfield battles and second balls. We had more quality in certain areas that won us the game but it was a far from convincing performance. We have lost our attacking edge of late but the defensive displays have more than made up for that and was desperately needed. No more 4-3 6-0 etc and a few drab winning three pointers but that's what it will take to get out of this league - if we ever do.

Definitely agree about Lewis, stepped up really well in his first season of men’s football and can see him having a successful career at a decent level. Nice also to see Cundy playing so much better that his performances for Bath last season showed he was capable of doing.

Although he has clearly done well filling in at right back, reports from every match Lewis has played centre-back, which includes Woking away much earlier in the season, suggest he is a very good centre-back.

link - quite fittingly, after giving pre match thoughts, Cundy gives post match thoughts with his debut goal for us under his belt!

Lewis has indeed looked excellent recently and I'm glad he's getting more game time. I haven't been impressed by Cundy this season at all but he's been much better in the last couple of games and seems much more comfortable as part of a three than in a back four.
