link - Good news in that Max Sheaf is confirmed on loan to the end of the season and welcome to the club. Double good news in that Johnson seems to have brought him in due to the intensity of games to be played and also able to cover a few positions.

Double good news in that Johnson seems to have brought him in due to the intensity of games to be played and also able to cover a few positions. Beat me to it Rob. As reported yesterday Max Sheaf signing from Hull City now confirmed. Gary and brother Pete have obviously a number of players they note and monitor over many months who end up in a little black book to persue when or if they become available. Sheaf, I would imagine is yet another young player on that list a players that will reinforce an already very strong area of our squad with huge competition for places. Worth noting the age of each and every loan is around 20 years and no doubt capable of playing the high pace, high energy game consistently the manager requires. Rarely have we had a dud with GJ in charge so my expectations for both players just brought in is high. It may also indicate that Armani Little's ongoing injury problems are a major concern and he will need more time to heal and perhaps more investigations. Really hope that's not the case a he showed just what hes capable of against Yeovil in a short first half cameo.

Great news. Last two loan signings look really exciting.

link - yet another arrival with Truro keeper, Hamon here for one month to cover for Covolan’s ankle injury. Played at league 2 level with Exeter so has a bit of experience. We now have Randell, Street, Sherring and Sheaf on loan so that is the maximum five in the match day squad reached.

Nice to see a manager who’s so on the ball, a club on its uppers and things happening with the speed of shit off a shovel...oh, and some humour thrown in. 🙂
This is TUFC though, so what could possibly go wrong? For ease of thought, I’ve made the answer to that question multiple choice. 🤔

With Sheaf in and Little back no surprise to see Buse off to Chippenham on a month’s loan to get some game time and keep fit - link

If you remember he did a stint at right back for the Dagenham game in December during the first half which did not work out. At the back of a long queue for him to play in central midfield. Short term, best he keeps match fit in case we get injuries there and need cover.

Joe is one of our now! Very encouraging and probably a starter tonight. Great attitude and work ethic and was improving with every game last term. May mean others shipped out though at some point either on loan or otherwise. Just shows that as soon as the right player comes up GJ goes for it and fair play to the club for sanctioning the move.

The Joe Lewis signing is the kind of deal I would expect if GJ was building a League2 team. It's been said in other quarters that the Max Sheaf loan signing is also looking toward promotion since he is out of contract with Hull at the end of the season.

Yes, I’d agree with that on both counts. Good to have him back and with Moxey now suspended it is also a very timely signing given our paucity if available defenders through injury. He’s a very promising talent, a grafter and a sensible head on young shoulders on the pitch.

Unbelievably, we now have eight players out injured and although a few are due to return, it does takes time, like for Little, to regain form and match fitness. Very happy to see Lewis back and at only 21, a similar age to say when Cameron joined us in the NLS so hopefully scope to improve. Defence needs a couple of central defenders minimum- Lewis and Warren? The former improved a lot and can cover right back with Warren providing the experience we so desperately need.

Pretty apparent that Garry Johnson NEVER sits on his hands as far as improving and progressing the squad goes. You just simply cannot stand still in this game and if you do you pay the price. Its a constant "always looking to improve the quality" scenario with the manager, wholeheartedly backed by the Chairman it seems. If players don't quite come up to standard they will soon be aware that their days are numbered. Absolutely necessary if you want to build a successful league outfit that can compete at the next level. Standing still is a recipe for decline with no place for sentiment. If you look at the injury list history its generally it's the older players in the squad who are suffering from our intense style of play, trying to keep up with the youngsters if you like. So to continue to scout and bring capable youngsters like Joe Lewis is imperative to our ambitions. Warren is a good player and his experience an know how beneficial but rarely can he manage two games in a row. Kerr is also plagued by an injury curse it seems. No good for Gary in the long term so not surprised at all by this permanent move for a player he knows so well. Its tough on the older players and we do need a percentage of older heads in the mix but balanced with a far larger percentage of young players who are more able to withstand the intensity of our style of play.
Very fortunate to have such a dedicated and hard working management team with a work ethic that transfers over to the playing squad.
