link - quick and approximate comparison on the numbers allowed back into National League clubs based on today’s announcement. Considering Weymouth averaged just over 1000 last season their stadium has plenty of room for travelling gulls just after Christmas on 28th December!

Actually there is an absurdity about these new rules. As discussed if Torbay is in tier one then we could possibly have 3250 in the ground (50% of our capacity). But if say Manchester found itself in tier one (I know it won't) then Old Trafford would be restricted to 4000 spectators. That just doesn't make sense.

I suppose the difference is if they were both at 50% capacity would be the sheer amount of fans travelling to Old Trafford, many by public transport possibly having consumed a few beers beforehand. So ironically Government advisers are more worried about numbers and transmission outside than inside an “COVID secure stadium.” I will be surprised if Plainmoor is able to have anything like 3250 fans back in next month due to the difficulties with standing areas - easier to alternate seating and keep bubbles together in BB and Family stands.

Sad to read on social media that some will attend and will refuse to comply with the rules believing Covid is a government control conspiracy.
The world is a mess with this Covid crisis and also politically. With more free time on our hands and so much misinformation to deal with and attempt to decipher - Is it any wonder some turn to extreme and irrational views? Potentially dangerous times ahead outside of football we must continue be aware of and be on our guard.
Same mindset who will refuse the vaccine no doubt. That will be the next hurdle to convince the deniers and doubters who have obviously not been directly affected by the killer virus.
This second lock down / tier system and control of our movement has certainly affected the thought process of many and is certainly having a damaging effect psychologically as well as financially though i would guess the two are connected.
The opening of football grounds is a logistics nightmare for all clubs, it will be interesting to see how they all cope but I would like to believe the majority of supporters will comply 100%. There will doubtless be a percentage of fans who will gain access to games who will not adhere to the rules. The match day experience will be nothing like we all know and love so I wont be attending until some normality returns and the vaccine we all prayed for and foolishly imagined we "all" so desperately wanted is out there, initiated and new cases drop to low numbers.
Could be along wait.

Good post. Getting back into the ground is the first step back to normality. but no way you can carry on as before when fit working age people are going down with it and can be quite poorly or take months to fully recover. You have a choice, if you don’t like it, don’t go. Normality is not actually too far off....

Also, If some fans don’t comply they will be asked to leave and banned irregardless of whether they think it is a government conspiracy, they are anti-vaccine, or whatever. We have to comply as a Club and as fans. It’s the Law and it is as simple as that. Covid Regulations are not a stick to beat the Club with. Saw someone moaning on social media they couldn’t get a ticket from club shop. I do wonder what parallel universe some live in at times. I’d love to go right now, but like many (albeit I’m not local), I’ll not go and I include the festive period which is usually an absolute must attend for me. It’s not worth it if there is a streaming alternative from my point of view. My business partner and her husband were recently quite ill after positive tests and with an underlying condition myself, I find the risks I and my household take in our respective daily work environments (hospital, courts, ambulance work placement between us) plenty enough to be getting on with and plenty reason also to protect others from exposure to me.

Really looking forward to this big game on Saturday. Just got a ticket in Bristows which will be different for me but i know its a good view up there. Looking at the online booking plan it seems there are only about a dozen places left around the ground so whats not to like......cant be any worse than going shopping !

Can't see fans at Plainmoor now for the rest of the season seeing it won't be until around Easter that the first phase of the vaccine roll out is complete (ie vaccination of the most vulnerable). Does the club now offer season ticket holders a refund? Should any such fans allow the club to keep the money then I think they should get a free season ticket for next season since they kept faith with the club right through this emergency.
