I thought we looked a class above them for 40 minutes but then felt we relinquished our grip and not surprised when they equalised.
Awful penalty by Wright.
Superb finish by the Lemon to clinch the win.
Deserved the win overall Glad we did not let it slip.

Think the wife would murder me if I suggest that over the second half of the rugby. What? Just tell her rugby is a silly game.

Didn't stream today but listened to the match and thought we played well, dominated in the main but failed to take umpteen chances. Typically we conceded and looked in danger of losing the game missing a pen in the process. But no we held our nerve and kept doing what we know best and continued to probe, push forward and get a deserved result with a quality winner from CLE. The game panned out more or less as I expected.
The slagging off of the team and running down of certain players on FB is quite unbelievable. Some expect Champagne 5-0 wins every week. It just ain't gonna happen.

Sutton are away to Wrexham on Tuesday and then home to Halifax on Saturday so have a chance of going top with ourselves then having a game in hand. Having watched Sutton as my Mrs is not a rugby fan would be surprised if they win both those games but we shall see.

When I noticed that Halifax had equalised, I thought well, a point ain’t bad, seeing as we were playing one of the bottom teams!
The Law of Averages has come into play though, and we scored another late winner. Still a long way to go before the late goal average evens out though!

We do seem to be doing better against lower table teams this year and that is a challenge in itself as it can be harder to break them down. I think better teams do get into the habit of scoring later on and our commentary team have already mentioned Fergy time a few times. That may be due to being able to exploit the extra space that opens up as teams tire and also if players are having to work harder and raise their game to keep up with a better side then there is going to be both mental and physical fatigue to contend with.

I see Notts County, Stockport, Wrexham and Hartelpool as bigger threats to our title aspirations than Sutton, Wealdstone, Woking and Maidenhead.

I see every single team as a threat and GJ will appreciate each should be treated with the same respect. Harrogate and Salford are prime examples that clubs who have no FL history can have great players and win promotions convincingly. Club hierarchy at this level is ever changing. We always look towards the ex league clubs as being the strongest and toughest to beat but it's not always the case. Yeovil Town's form and start to the season is the biggest surprise after looking so strong and dominant last season and roasting us twice last term. Wealdstone have continued to improve and have comfortably made the leap to the next level despite conceding loads of goals this season. Obviously attack minded but vulnerable as we have been in recent times. They will learn. I can remember the game they gave us at Plainmoor in our promotion season and they looked a very good side back then, in what was a very hard fought win. Wrexham from the day they were relegated from the FL have struggled to come to terms with the NL and haven't really threatened the top spots. Maybe the expectation levels have been too high but surely with their fan base they will challenge. Notts County another sleeping giant with similar problems but surely due some success. Agreed the ex FL clubs should, on paper be up there but the Wealdstone's, Woking's and Maidenheads will be just as much of a force, if they're good enough, especially with no fans in the ground. That twelth man we all know can make a huge difference. I count eleven former league clubs in our division and you would expect all to be at the top end and challenging considering their resources expectation levels but it rarely happens that way.
I look back sometimes and wonder how and why we squandered our FL status not once but twice. We could quite easily still be sat in mid table NLS obscurity or worse.
The big question is can we do it all over again? but this time not squander what was so hard earned and difficult to regain. If we do will it just be another Dead Cat Bounce? I don't see us having a better opportunity with the management team and players we have - we surely have to do it this season...

We could quite easily still be sat in mid table NLS obscurity or worse. One of the pit falls of football (or any other sport for that matter) is hitting your top form at the same time as one of your opponents. Wrexham did just that in 2011/12 when they finished 2nd on 98 pts, enough to get them promoted in many a season; they eventually lost to the 5th placed side in the first round of the play-offs, no doubt affected by a negative reaction to missing out after a tremendous campaign. And that is what I fear most about this season, we hit the ground running and we just have to keep going, we can't afford to take our foot off the pedal for a second. As for losing our EFL status, that was down to plain ineptitude. The first time was entirely due to the Chris Roberts debacle and that useless Pole he put in charge. Second time to bad managerial appointments, first Knill who didn't impress me the season he actually saved us and then Hargreaves, when you're fighting relegation to non-league you don't appoint a rookie unless you've got a deathwish. Will it be different this time? Possibly, a lot of the fiasco over the ill timed sacking of Nicholson and the woeful appointment of Owers came when Geoff Harrop was general manager, someone completely out of his depth. George Edwards seems to be a much safer pair of hands.
