No doubt GJ best manager in the League. We are lucky to have him.

As has been said many times (mostly by me) if you have any aspirations about getting up to the promised land, these are the sort of games you have to win. A cold shitty night, at a cold shitty ground on a cold shitty Tuesday!
It will be interesting to see if the apathetic Torquay public will rise to the occasion this Saturday! It’s all poised to be a grand occasion, sadly though, we’re all aware what normally happens with TUFC and grand occasions. 🥺

Reg I don't quite see it as an "apathetic Torquay public", the current circumstances are quite unique. Apathy will undoubtedly play a part in how many go through the turnstiles but many supporters, particularly those over 60 and their are many, will choose not to attend for obvious reasons. All clubs will be facing the same problems. It's ok opening the grounds again but it's then a question of making it 100% safe and convincing people that it is. Add to that many will simply just drop the habit of attending live football matches now they've managed to exist for nine months without it other things will have taken its place and that is the biggest danger long term. Allowing fans back in grounds is just the beginning of a long road to recovery and I fear many smaller clubs will have problems attracting fans back to football grounds. Fortunately our club is in pole position and many fans will be eager to see us playing once again but don't expect 2000 to attend.

I wasn’t referring to present apathy, and I can fully understand that during this time of uncertainty, why certain people (especially the elderly) will not be attending the match on Saturday. I was referring to the general apathy from supporters in the past. At the moment we’re top of the league, and sometimes you have to grab the Bull by the balls and just do it, whatever the cost to life and limb! Sadly, I think you’re right, there won’t be 2000 there on Saturday.

A very important win. We have played 6 away games to 4 home. By the way, when did we last win 5 away league games in a row (if ever).

I rather like the "All Or Nothing" tactics these days.
Pretty apparent we always go for the win and play without fear for the ninety or so minutes. I believe it's the philosophy that GJ has adopted throughout his managerial career and why he's had so much past success but also had the odd wobble when he hasn't had the right caliber of player that can adapt to his ways or playing style. One things for sure he soon shifts to one side or moves out the ones that don't buy in to his master plan. Still no sign of Nelson it does make you wonder but for now he has the benefit of the doubt from me and for allwe know could play a major role at some point..
With the three point for a win system (many will remember when it was just two) GJ knows all to well that too many draws can soon have you wallowing in the wrong half of the table. Winning is everything and crucial if you want to be top dog and better to try an win any game than hold on for a point that would almost feel like defeat. Rarely in the past have we seen this from other managers but you can see that the players are playing without fear and that's half the battle. Sure to trip up at some point but sure to continue with the same tactics, recover and go again. We're certain not to lie down no matter what. Another fine example last night of how to motivate a squad, stick to a plan and keep pressing till the very end that gained us the extra points.
Like many, I genuinely believe we now have the players in the squad who have wholly bought in and we will be serious contenders.

No, I'm pretty sure that it was August/September 1959. Could be, 10 wins on the bounce is the record either side of the Christmas period 2 years ago but having checked the past seasons room I see it comprised 6 home matches and was ended with the away trip to Bath that many will recall....

No, I'm pretty sure that it was August/September 1959. Ah, I remember that season well, our first promotion clinched with a home win over Gillingham, a game which I can specifically recall, even to where I was standing (on the old pop side) but i was too young to go on away trips!
