Great to be back at the ground today and while it was a bit different, the basics of being able to watch your team win was there while at the same time it was well organised and everyone was well spaced out.
Very well deserved win and we were the much better team creating chances where as Wrexham were reduced to either long range shots or getting their goal from sloppy defending after being wrongly awarded a corner. Ref was very much up and down. Our penalty decision could have gone either way. The foul on Randell was a cast iron penalty but not given, ho hum....
Whitfield had a quieter second half. Umerah did well coming on for an injured Wright who may be a doubt for Tuesday. Bit concerning that all three full backs for the club are out injured but Andrews did well at left back and is looking fit and offers something a bit different there. CLE got MOTM and just edged it from Whitfield imo. The midfield trio worked well together and with Nemane and Whitfield out wide is a combination as good as any at this level.

Thought we played Wrexham off the park at times first half. What's so pleasing for me is that nearly every player looks capable on the ball and know their job. Each player has improved their personal game no end. I must be honest I thought Asa Hall was only going to play a peripheral role this season but hes got himself really fit and looks better than ever. As for CLE, Arron Nemanee and Ben Whitfield how good do they look and I still think there could be better to come from all three.
Must avoid the devastating injury crisis we had last year around this time though the challenge on CLE i thought was dreadful and warranted a red. Last thing we need is our form players missing games and we now seem to be picking up injuries. Some very good performances throughout the side today and it was a hard to spot any weak links though Shaun MacDonald had a couple of rash moments that could easily have cost us.
Great attacking performance first half in particular. A hard watch in the second period but we game managed to a point I thought with Kyle Cameron marshaling the back line really well and Andrews impressing on the left. Yet another three points but Sutton keep the pressure on which in a way I believe is a good thing for us when you look back at the rivalry at the top when we were in the National League South. It kept the concentration levels high until we finally broke free at the end. Looking good, in fact it couldn't be better but still a long way to go.

A far more enjoyable experience than I had dared hope for.
Hats off to the club. A tremendous amount of work has gone in to this and all seemed to go very well from where I was stood.
I was three steps back about ten yards from half way towards the Babbacombe end. An excellent unobstructed view. I did miss Chelston's sparkling wit though.
Hats off to the fans. All pulling in the same direction and working together to make the best of things. Good common sense stewarding too.
For the first 45 minutes we looked light years ahead of Wrexham.
Sherring and Andrews did well out of position.
Our front six is a perfect balance. Hall and Randell holding things together. Two all-round midfielders who can play and get stuck in. Wright leading the line like old fashioned centre-forwards used to - and Umerah probably learning a lot from watching how it is done. Whitfield and Lemonheigh-Evans absolute quality at this level - and probably the one above. Nemane has proved me wrong. When he arrived, I had him down as as showboating impact sub. How wrong I was. A lad who has overcome the disappointment of just missing the high-flying Man City boat to knuckle down and rebuild his career. Works his socks off (as do Ben and Connor) and deserves to do well.
Second half far more evenly balanced but we were still on top and won comfortably.
Nobody should expect us to be able to keep up the standard of that first half for 90 minutes - and definitely not while we have two games a week. The secret is to get ahead when well on top and see the game out when the opposition fights back - or at least the better teams fight back. We did that very well and fully deserve to be top of the league.

My big take from the game is that we won. I didn't want to say anything before the match but I was concerned we might bottle it in front of a live crowd, just as we did in front of large away followings at WSM and Bath when we were in the NLS.

No, we held it all together and it was good to have the away end for locals as well, they made some noise too.
