Viewing was really a game of two halves with a lot better picture quality and of course those 4 goals scored. Almost had the feel of a training game towards the end as we were able to almost pass the ball into the net.

I am in two minds about this competition, there is another £90,000 of prize money still to be won but it will take four Saturdays out of the season, 6th and 27th of February, the 27th of March and finally the final on 8th May.
On reflection, I think last night was not just a good result but gave the players much needed game time and a good confidence booster going into two tough league games. We have got the strength in depth now to mix things around and keep everyone fresh.
Good to see Little get 25 minutes of pitch time and for once, ahead of schedule with a minor injury that has kept him out just for a few weeks meaning his fitness is still there. Still needs some 90 minute games but can gradually build up again.
In the end, no sight of our new signings but suspect they both liked what they saw. Waters looks like he is now on top of his game and is a completely different prospect to when he made his debut against Crawley. Think I would only start him in a 4-4-2 which means probably will be making more of an impact off the bench for now.

Have some members of the TFF noticed a rather strange looking plant hanging around outside their houses (or Bedsit) recently? 🙄

Cant say I expected such a convincing scoreline, the game seems to achieved everything we had hoped for. From reading reports 0-4 may have flattered us a little but I'll take any confidence boosting performance that takes us into the pretty tough and challenging next stage of proceedings. Hope we've kept a few more goals in reserve for the next two contests in particular. Really pleased to see Armani get some valuable pitch time and it sounded like the break has give one or two others time to recover from more minor knocks.
Into the last 16 with a long and slightly unexpected trip to Southport in the next round. Once again, just as along as it doesn't pose any hindrance to our league form crack on and make sure we save the best performances for the tough league games ahead.

link - worth reading Torquay Talk match review as many on here would have “Swannys ” match reports on here over the years.

We have got the strength in depth now to mix things around and keep everyone fresh. Ordinarily I would be of the Register school of thought as regards the Trophy. In this case however the players needed a gam as we saw the effect rustiness can have with Yeovil's non-performance on Boxing Day. Plus the fact that we have already played more games than most others in the league which means the Trophy won't cause a fixture pile up that others aren't having to deal with.

Thanks Rob, one day we will all get back to Plainmoor like normal and meet again. In the meantime at least we have forums, social media and livestreams to keep in touch with the Gulls.
