Perhaps a bite to eat at the babbacombe inn? Think they serve food all day 🍺🍺🍺 Sounds like a plan. Steak and chips or all day breakfast to soak up a few beers as we celebrate and plan our trip to Bristol. What’s the afternoon equivalent of brunch? Drunch or trunch?

Table for three at the moment... Any advance on three? Maximum six I suppose. Bit earlier than 4? Should be done by about 3 even if it goes to penalties. We can’t make it an afternoon tea because some idiot would show us up by putting the jam on first.

So Stockport play the winners of Hartlepool v Bromley while we play the winners of Notts County v Chesterfield. 5 established league teams in there all desperately trying to get promoted.

With all players fully fit we have been the best team in the league by some margin.Injuries have been devastating...hard to tell if this has been bad luck or something which can be improved next season. Players we have brought in have been largely disappointing. GJ has worked wonders to keep us competitive. Hopefully he can work his magic for 2 more games. Having Wright and Whitfield fit would certainly be a boost.

link - Congratulations to Brentford who have won the championship play-off final against Swansea to get to the premiership. Worth reflecting that eight years ago Gary Johnson’s Yeovil town beat Brentford in the league one play-off final to get to the championship for the first time. Let’s hope Gary can pull off a bit more similar magic.

I'm seeing a few posts on .com suggesting Wright, Whitfield and Nemane will not be available for the play offs. A major setback if this is the case as I m pretty certain GJ would have been hoping at least two of the three would be back and ready for the challenge. With Boden unable to play against his parent club if they beat Notts County our forward options are looking decidedly poor. Cameron up top was surely an experiment to see if he could fill the role effectively - a signal that all is not well on the treatment table. Another mystery is the absence of Olaf Koszela surely a better option than Cameron if we are stretched in that department. Hope what I'm reading is wrong and we get some genuine threat back in the front line.
On another note the late play off fixtures could possibly have a detrimental effect on ours and all those involved in contract talks/retained list/player recruitment. While we have to put recruitment and contract talks, extensions etc on the back burner we will be a month behind other clubs who know what division they will be playing in next season and will already be making moves to improve their squads. Not ideal for manager, players who's contracts are up or for the club to prepare for next seasons challenge. Plus we will have some big boots to fill when Randell and Sherring return to their respective clubs.

Remember when we played football in the park as a kid, the teams were being picked and you always dreaded being picked last...I think this would be one of those moments.

Nice visit to see Chelston’s mother-in-law next season. Newport lose the playoff final to Morecambe.

Will the weather be a factor in these play-off games?
12 noon kick off in the middle of June could present quite a challenge to the fitness of some players.
