As Gritts says, lack of strength in depth is what kills us.
Good starting XI today, but nothing on the bench of adequate quality.
Means we have to keep trying to wring ninety minutes out of old stagers like Moxey, Hall and Wright.
If only we had decent options on the bench to freshen things up.
You feel that Grimsby’s ability to bring on three good subs may well be decisive.

Lapslie and Moxey can’t last 90 minutes. Replaced by Lolos and Omar. Remaining options are Felix and O’Connell.
We will do well to scrape a point here. Even that ends our slim playoff hopes.

Great effort from everyone but glad our false hope challenge has finished.
Time for the retained list and a proper pre season and some proper pruning of the deadwood squad strengthening ......

Agree Pete. No point dragging out the agony. Would love to see Koszela and Slough brought back to have a runout in the remaining dead rubbers. If they are not as good as the players we had on the bench today, time to say goodbye. We’ll only find out if they have what it takes to be squad players if we give them a chance. |

We all make mistakes, and as I have previously explained, even I made one once! I believe that Garry made a mistake (which he has openly mentioned, but in somewhat veiled speech) but has learnt from it..even if our keeper had to virtually throw the ball into his own net to achieve that point.
I believe that Sharkey is an honourable and honest man…anyone with an ounce of nouse can see that. He pumps his honestly earned money into the club every season, but we all have our breaking point.
And as one of The Ten Commandment’s says: “Though shalt not covet The Holy Grail!” Hopefully, that is all behind us now and we can move on and look forward to a better season ahead. Although that will all depend on this famous ‘clear out’ everyone hopes for, because without that I don’t see much point.
