The days of being the biggest fish around have long gone, with Whale Sharks coming into our pond on a regular basis.

Also, we now seem to be a team bereft of ambition…oops sorry, I just heard a plate smash somewhere so I’ll have to check…….."………"………" it’s ok, it sounded like it was miles away. So where was I…oh yes, ambition. A couple of seasons ago we had Helen of Troy firmly in our grasp, but then decided to go after some old slapper from Port Talbot! Any decent players at our level will take note of that, much to our detriment. 

Ambition is the life blood of any player/team, so let’s hope we can keep a few of those plates spinning…oh bugger, there goes another one! 😵‍💫 

Covolan, Sherring, Randall, Cameron, Whitfield, Nemane, Waters, MacDonald, Wynter, Lewis, Lemonheigh-Evans, Little, Duke-McKenna - I’m not sure I remember a period in 43 years of watching the club when we have lost so many of our best players in such a short period of time; it’s thoroughly depressing and leaves one wondering just what type of team even the best manager in the world could put together to replace such quality. I know some of those listed were on loan but they were here for long enough to feel like our players and that collection of players were part of group that reestablished the connection between supporters and players. It feels hard to imagine being so connected to a new group, especially if they don’t getting going.

If Johnson doesn't get backing to bring in players I would not be surprised to see him move on. Doubtless one of the top managers in the league so hope he gets the backing he deserves.
