5-0. Can't fault the effort. We had more corners..they had more goals. Their keeper made a couple of good saves and Derby clinical in front of goal. Kudos to the Torquay fans who made the trip.

Not being negative, but less than six will feel like a win. Feels like a win.

Thank f*"k thats out of the way. Never ever set up to get a result and just played our usual open game. Asa Hall was sadly embarrassing to watch he should be honest and pack it in. Maybe hes only hanging around to inherit the managers job! Derby felt sorry for us and ended up with loads of kids on the pitch and had at least another two gears if needed. Can only hope theres not much damage done regarding injuries and strains. Time to move on - quickly and get stuck in to the REAL battle.

I am not sure what role Aaron Downes plays as we show little interest in defending. Looks like a shit or bust approach. Derby always looked likely to score...we had a lot of the ball in the first half but posed little threat. Thought Ness played well and agree Hall looked knackered.Great finish from Ellis for the opener.

I know we are two leagues below Derby but to be honest it felt more like 4 or 5 and they weren’t even trying.
I expected nothing less than a hammering but if anything I felt more concerned about that effortless mauling than I did after the similarly easy win for Chesterfield on Saturday.
I suspect we will lose around 3-0 to Barnet on Saturday and that might just be the sort of result that instigates change of some sort. Part of me has been wondering if getting the Derby game out of the way before anything is changed is the thinking in the club but probably not.
The last 8 games have seen us concede 25 goals and 10 conceded in two games. Our weaknesses were exposed for everyone to see and a defence with a slightly suspect keeper, a midfielder at RB, a RB at LB and two loanees who’ve only just joined the club in the centre is a recipe for disaster.
The slight recovery we had a couple of weeks ago feels in the distant past and our defensive frailties seem even more pronounced and what are the alternatives? An injured Moxey; a kid in Tomlinson and a pair of liabilities in Marshall and Omar and even worse keeper in Lovett.
De Silva and Wearne are probably the only things to be optimistic about and they are not even our players.
Such a shame our team from two years ago didn’t get a cup draw like that; they’d have probably given quite a good account of themselves but this lot are just embarrassing I’m afraid.

I tend to agree we put on a show and played an open game to make friends and nothing else. As a tactical lesson in trying to get a result it was a complete shambles and I don't blame the back line I see the problems mre in midfield where Asa Hall is still tracking back from their first counter attack! But the tactics, the way we approached the game and the result were just what I expected and there lies the main problem GJ knows no other way to set up the team to play differently and grind out boring results. Barnet and the rest must have been laughing their socks off at how open we were and how we committed eight or nine players to press high only to look ridiculously exposed and short of cover when they countered. Derby took their foot off the gas and played many youngsters winning with ease. It was a stroll in the park for them. Only real plus point was Donelan's performance one of the only players to look comfortable on the night.

I thought Donnelan had a good game but I still think he looked what he is and that is a distinctly average player having probably the game of his life.

Great finish from Ellis for the opener. It such a well executed header that for a split second I actually thought he knew what he was doing.

On the face of it, it appears to have been suicidal to go at Derby - leaving us open to be caught on the break.
Suggestions elsewhere that we should have parked the bus and settled for a nice 2-0 or 3-0 defeat.
I think that we are so bad at defending that we might have shipped double figures if we had let Derby be on the front foot throughout.
The fact we were up their end attacking for a lot of the game meant they hit us five times on the break. How many would they have stuck away if they had been besieging our goal for ninety minutes?
