Hoping we can salvage a draw.
Any update (Ha) on Ellis?

Omar in for Ellis, with Marshall on the bench.
Hall, Lapsie and Moxey all start.

That ☝️ doesn’t sound too bad, the only problem being, that none of them will actually be fit! 🧎

Good to see a few returning but will be rusty and may not be up to speed. Hope we can salvage a WIN. We need at least eight and a half dozen draws from the remaining fixtures to stand a chance and those wins have to start happening very soon.

I see we lost again. This is becoming both predictable and tiresome.

I see we lost again. This is becoming both predictable and tiresome. Nothing has or is changing Stig. Im afraid I'm resigned to the inevitable now as there is absolutely no sign of intent coming from high up which tells its own story. I believe they are quite happy for it all to happen. Feel for the supporters who traveled today, I've wised up these days, in hope of change or whatever it may take to at least make an effort to change "something" to try and stop the rot. Its says something when you start to think even the likes of and aging Danny Wright up top would have likely made a difference this season and contrary to whats been suggested recently we are not that great going forward. The problems and lack of quality is right through the squad. More post match powder puff questions to follow in the post match interview no doubt....

Thanks petef....I think this ties in nicely with Albert Einstein's observation of doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Just two weeks to go until the final instalment of the Somerset trilogy. I can't wait to hear Reg's thoughts on the subject.

Something is happening here, something that is staring us all in the face but none of us can see it. Way back, there was a programme called Tales of the Unexpected, which was on last thing at night and each episode contained some weird happenings...which is exactly what is happening at Plainmoor!
Tomorrow I will tell you what I would like to do about it?

I was one of the 802 there, travelling always in hope rather than expectation. First half we were on top, reasonable approach play but no end product. Yeovil were dreadful and threatened even less. Second half Yeovil improved somewhat and were on top for first 15/20 mins forcing a number of corners which were dealt with. As the game progressed we got more of a foot hold but as in the first half never really threatened to score. As per this season a goal for the opposition seemed inevitable and it duly arrived. The second goal was meaningless arriving as it did in the 94th min. Still time for us to finally hit the back of the net but was ruled out for offside. By that time people were leaving and there were clearly calls of Johnson out. In reality this performance had the stench of relegation, Yeovil are a very poor side, yet they have taken 4 points from us in a week. We never really threatened to score despite being on top for large periods and then concede. Hall, much as I love him, looks less and less mobile after each return from injury, Moxey I dont think is fully fit and Johnson admitted that Lapslie was strugglimg- my response being when is he he not? Donnellan once again performed well, Omar was ok though positional sense is still dodgy and De Silva looked lively first half but faded. Jarvis and Goodwin barely had a kick and certainly didn't trouble Yeovil's defence which to be fair is solid and organised. Nothing of the bench made a difference and once again Andrews came on for his cameo appearance, ran around and fell down. What a disappointment he has been. The final whistle heralded more anti-Johnson chants as he slunk off down the tunnel whilst the rest of the players, including Downes came over to the fans. Not a great atmosphere at the end and clear discontent and perhaps finally recognition amongst some of how bad we are and how perilous our situation is. I for one cannot see where the next win is coming from and anyway the odd win is not enough we need several of them to even give ourselves a chance. I simply cannot see that happening and as we were leaving my friend remarked to me that we wouldn't be back at Huish Park for a while. It will be Taunton next new years day.

I notice that someone is interested in the thoughts of the great Reg Register. It is with great sadness, that I have to tell you all, that Reg Register has gone beyond…he took one step and was gone. 🥹
Reg and I spoke of many things before his departure, his good looks, his vivacity and his rather large manhood. Reg asked me on a number of occasions if I would Carry His Mantle when he passed…but after seeing the size of it, I declined the offer.

I thought Reg buggered off because he said Putin had hacked his account which is another way of saying he forgot his password.

A belated match report with thanks to Rob for the lift!
The inclusion of Moxey, Hall and Lapslie made us look stronger on paper but we all new that they were probably not fully fit and definitely not fully match-fit.
My comment was that we will need to be two up by seventy minutes when they will all run out of steam. Wyatt's exclusion from the starting X1 was almost certainly because we could not have four unfit (or unmatchfit if such a word exists) players in the starting eleven.
The named eleven had us guessing at the formation. If a back four, it would have to be Hall at centre-back or Evans at full-back - so more likely a back three.
Indeed it was a proper back three - not a back four with one full-back pushing up more.
I did wonder if Evans would go wide-right as better defensively than De Silva, but Evans was in the centre behind the front two with De Silva wide right.
It turned out that we did not need wing-backs at all. So lumpen and leaden were Yeovil that they had no pace and no desire or ability to get round the side of the back three. All they could do was hoof the ball up to two donkeys up front - one centre-back playing out of position.
Omar managed to get the wrong side of his donkey three times in the opening minutes, but neither the ref nor the lino noticed him tugging his man back. Someone must have had a word as Omar then started getting on the right side and that left Yeovil with zero attacking threat - easy work for a back three to handle with no support needed. The one chance they did have was when the lino did not flag on what looked like a very clear offside, but the player left in the clear promptly fell over.
Against such poor opposition, we could hardly fail to dominate and could have seven players pushing forward. Dominate we did, but created little by way of clear-cut chances and failed to score. Had Chelston been there, instead of sensibly staying at home in the warm and the dry, he would have told us that if you dominate the first half and fail to score, it is odds-on you will lose.
Yeovil made two changes at half-time, one of which meant they had one forward who was reasonably quick and mobile. The no. 27 did start to go wide and get round the back of the back three - particularly down our left side. I think this is what led to our first substitution with Wyatt coming on as a more traditional left-wing-back with some defensive responsibilities. Wearne switched from left to right and it was De Silva sacrificed.
Mixed feelings on that. He had not done much but how much of that is down to him and how much down to lack of service? I could not help but feel that our player with the most spark, flair and energy had left the field - and with him our best chance of breaking the deadlock.
Yeovil's brief second half pickup quickly subsided and the game was still very much there to be won, but there was a feeling of deja vu when we conceded against the run of play. Here we go again.
Both Lapslie and Hall out on their feet by now and I expected both to be substituted as Hanson and Andrews got ready to come on.
Hanson for Lapslie was a straight swap - at least in terms of position but definitely not in terms of talent. How would we rejig with a third forward to try to force the equaliser? The answer was that we wouldn't. Off went Goodwin - after De Silva the second most likely to make something happen - to be replaced in another straight swap at least in terms of position if not not in terms of talent. Hall was left to drain himself for the full ninety minutes - will that put him out of action for the next few weeks?
Second goal as we pushed up was no surprise. A real sense of inevitability and deja vu about the whole game.
Yeovil look a terrible side, but it looks like they might manager to scrape to safety. When you look at the league table, it tells that we are a far worse side than Yeovil ...... and that takes some doing.
