Sunday, and as usual time to reflect on yesterday's result and performance.
A typical bottom of the table clash, both teams desperate for a result and doing everything they can to stop the opponents getting a breakthrough resulting in a poor low quality game of football. It does appear that we have improved defensively with another clean sheet. More important that stat than lets say the 6- 1 win against Aldershot when we were so unpredictable at the back. Hope it stays that way. The only thing that matters though is that we came away with the three points and we somehow managed to achieve that. I was a little surprised by the starting line up with many changes that was bound to upset continuity - no Hall, who must still be carrying an injury. no sign of Mac Gavin, Crole and also Ali Omar absent. Difficult to keep track of the many loanees coming going these days with half the line up consisting of loanees. We have lost our identity these days as far as having a strong contracted base of players. Good to See Tom Lapslie get another 90 minutes without coming off. We will need him to stay fit if we are to recover our season and get out of the mire.
Next few games are a whole different kettle of fish with quite different challenges and we will need to be much better than we showed yesterday.

The result was the only thing that matters.
A win is a win.
Far better than a brilliant display of attacking football ending in a 4-4 draw.
Maidstone were absolutely dreadful and failure to beat them would have been a disaster - especially with Gateshead, Maidenhead and Yeovil all picking up surprising away wins.
Not at all convinced by the shape. A better team would have overrun our midfield and got in behind the wingbacks.
The spirit is willing. No lack of effort. Gives us a chance of staying up. If only we could swap some of our many spare centre backs for a couple of decent full backs and a decent combative midfielder.
