The prospect of Pete Masters owning the club fills me with more dread than the club being liquidated and having to start again. He played a big role in landing us with the parasite that is Clarke Osborne. Look at the mess he left Truro in.

Busy day. A lot going on.
Great to see the majority of fans united.
There is so much goodwill and positive energy out there.
There will always be the odd idiot trying to divide fans, but empty vessels make the most noise.
Let’s hope for the least bad outcome.
The Torquay United will never be divided.

Ten point deduction and a real danger of slipping down to the league below and will be the first step by the looks of things....that's how much he really cares about this club. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68372224And potentially the league below that. As I understand it (and please correct me if I am wrong), any club in administration by the time of the National League AGM is automatically demoted. With a 10 point deduction we would be 4 points above Welling United in the final relegation spot. So, if we are relegated this season and still in administration by the end of June, we would face a further relegation. That bar steward Osborne would find it hard to pick a worse time to bail on the club than now.

In light of the current situation, fans are understandably very concerned about the future of the club and some have started setting up various Go Fund Me accounts to help raise money. However it is important that fundraising is properly coordinated and done at the right time with TUST currently in the process of setting up a crowd funding page and request that all fans wait for this before making any donations.

Osbourne's final act was to twist the knife as much as he could and to inflict as much damage as he could. Whatever his outgoing statement reads you have to take with a pinch of salt. His only priority now will be to try and recoup as much of his own investment as possible and thats no small sum. A business gamble he took five or more years a go believing the odds were in his favour in pursueding fans, general public councillors etc. An established opportunist, no more no less and no different than Chris Roberts but with more financial backing and a marginally higher IQ. The road and battle ahead to save our football club is going to long and tough. The initial euphoria and call to arms will eventually subside and we will be left with the cold light of day realities of a football club in dire straits that will require practical and realistic solutions, clever determined people and not fantasy dreamers who think another fairy god father or mother is going to come along and bale us out.

This from the Mayor (a good fan by the way) after their meeting last night:
I will do all that I can to help and work with TUFC to get through this dark and sad time. At last night's meeting of the full Council, the Leader of the Council vowed to work with TUFC and engage with any interested parties to keep football at the club.

Copy and pasted from TUFF Plainmoor Talk. A post or two from Peter Masters in response to the issues and a few derogatory comments towards him on the website.
Peter Masters is apparently showing concern and interest in our situation
"Good afternoon Gentlemen, firstly very sorry to learn of the current situation, however never waste a good crisis, few untrue comments on here, but that's to be expected. if I can help I will".
"If we can keep to the Football more importantly address the current Torquay position that will be positive. My understanding is that the Club is not in Administration but has filed for protection in the court which I believe has an initial seven day window which can be renewed by the Directors. so there is a window of opportunity here to stop the 10pt deduction and transfer ownership, appoint a new Manager and push forward with the support of the fan base".

Do you think that a potential buyer would show his hand to a fans' forum? I wonder if this is a troll, call me an old fool but I am sceptical.

Unsure re ‘potentially the league below that’ as technically we might be deemed as having already been relegated out of the National League part of the pyramid and subject to whatever the Southern League rules might be? But would certainly seem to be the case if ‘on field’ relegated from National League to NLS and EFL to National League at the appropriate time. I’ve been reading about the relevance of a date late in March (third Thursday?) having entered into Administration (which as I understand it we still haven’t) determining when the 10 points is deducted. ie: this season or the next. I guess with the 7 day window we should know soon which side of that we are likely to fall. If we are not already in Administration, albeit we have notified of the intention, do funds to the Club not fall to the club rather than an appointed administrator at this stage? I know that Osborne announced that anything now is toward operating costs, something an administrator would direct, but is that their choice or is it something they must do at this precise moment prior to Administration, but having notified of intention?

Cannot be completely sure, but I think he does have history of posting on the Truro fans forum so more likely than not.
