I am sure we will be in the same league again one day. Well IF they can hang on in the Football League and not free fall as we rise upwards!

Not that many Village clubs made a £1.1m profit last year though merse. Ali, you have my sympathy. My in-laws are all Cornish and hence Argyle as well. I think the missus has finally converted to the Yellow side, but she wouldn't admit to it. Strange sort of supporter myself in that I've only ever lived in the South East - closest clubs growing up being Reading and Aldershot - but support the Gulls as a result of my Grandfather's passionate support throughout his life, starting in 1927.
I've been a season ticket holder, but not in the last two seasons and atttend more away fixtures than home ones these days. I loves us, mind.

I recon Dom`s a great bloke, just a little misguided. He can`t help it, he was born a Pasty will die a Pasty, he`s green all the way through but does have a big soft spot for Yellow!

Demanding his sacking every time we lose a match (as some do) is as ridiculous to me as suggesting he's something akin to Fergie (as others seem to). I must say that I have never heard anyone suggest that Buckle is something akin to Fergie. It certainly has not been said on this forum – and I did search the archive for mentions of Fergie / Alex / Ferguson to double-check. Are you misunderstanding some comments made by Budleigh Gull on the man management thread? Budleigh pointed out that Fergie has fallen out with lots of players in his time and is a very successful manager. He could equally have pointed out that Brian Clough fell out with lots of players in his time and was a very successful manager. He certainly was not claiming that Buckle was in the same league as Fergie as a manager. I would guess that the reason Budleigh felt the need to make the Fergie point – and I would add the Clough point – is that certain people moan, wail, gnash their teeth and cry that Buckle is useless at man-management every time there is a hint of a falling out at Plainmoor. I think you are one of the most guilty here, Fonda. We have had your theories ad nauseam about how any manager who ever falls out with a player must be useless and how any decent manager would carefully cajole and coax his players so that there would never be a falling out. You make lengthy pronouncements on how situations were badly handled when you don’t even know what the situation was and how it was handled. Mentioning Fergie and Clough’s management style is merely pointing out that your argument is fundamentally flawed. It is not in any way comparing the ability of Buckle to arguably the two greatest managers seen in recent history. Buckle may go on to a successful management career or he may not – the line between success and failure is paper thin. He will have some falling out with players along the way.

I certainly don't 'wail or gnash teeth'. I do wonder why we seem to have these issues so regularly though. And whilst you're absolutely correct in that i'm guilty of commenting on things without knowing the full facts sometimes, you'd go far to find someone that posts on a board such as this with only facts at their disposal. I'm sure Matt Green wasn't completely blameless in this situation (i assume you're commenting on my stance elsewhere, as i've not discussed the issue here have i?) But i maintain that whether he was dropped for his behaviour, or for tactical reasons, he was unfortunate to be so. Last season there was a definite distinction in the squad - 'first-teamers and back-ups'. This season, it appeared Bucks had successfully constructed a squad which would allow more players to play their part. It hasn't happened, and perhaps that frusration was always likely to arise? You can't expect players that are good enough to play regularly, to be happy when not playing at all. Especially ones that turned down other inviting offers to come here. Of course nobody should be 'guaranteed' games, but i'm not surprised some are disappointed at seeing as little as they do. In the case of Green, he's been playing well and working hard for the team. And to be dropped for a player that doesn't even seem to take the game seriously enough to maintain a decent level of fitness, must have seemed like something of a snub. And just to put your mind at rest, the fact Budleigh had mentioned Fergie in another thread was completely coincidental. I was making the point that whilst some demand his sacking every time we lose a game, others seem to think he's some kind of tactical genius. Of course nobody would be stupid enough to compare Bucks with someone like Fergie.

Fonda is someone I had many disagreements with elsewhere, but I do find myself agreeing with most of his post on this thread.Green was upset at being taken off against Coventry and he was playing so well in that game and the first question is why was he taken off.It is not the first time he has been taken off and then conceded a goal that has lost us the game.
Green should have shaken Buckles hand and he was wrong not to do so. but as I have posted elsewhere, if what is claimed happened,(Bucks dressing down Green in front of the other players)then Buckles man management skills has to be called into question.
The facts are there for all to see, there have been issues with other players that has seen them dropped, moved on or put on the transfer list, have they been handled well? has the team suffered because players who could have given much to the team out on the pitch, only then made the bench, or even failed to make the squad.
Have we made the most of all the good players we have here? and have we given some a fair chance to prove why in many other teams they would be starting?Well I'm not sure we have and I do feel some things need to change, its my view that any issues need to be handled better and more quickly, so that the very best team is out on the pitch, as the club and the results have to come before any personal issues some may have with others.
