Bevan's 'save' when the ball comes back of the fascia of the stand is priceless...would be worth a third eye on Soccer AM if they covered BSP games.

Can't remember the last time I saw a goal like our second actually given. Especially when you bear in mind he'd not long since booked Sills as well.

Not complaining Dave. "Feed the Sills and he legitimately competes with the keeper for a 50-50"..... ;D

Is it my computer, or are we wearing RED shorts??? Great first goal, superb ball by Hargreaves and then by Thompson and, fair do's to him, great finish from Dsane. Would be good to hear the views from someone at the game as the highlights made it look like they had much the better chances?? Then again who cares, great result.

Well the Dsane goal was good enough to win the game anyway, players should be allowed to jump with the keeper, its time the refs started to let what was always a fair challenge stand as that.

Great stuff - fantastic quality highlights. The away support looked fantastic - I know that there seems to be a few fans living in the Yorkshire area, but to get around 250 was excellent. Well done to everyone that made the effort - hopefully the team can get a decent turn-out on Tuesday (but I'm not hopeful of anything much over 2k).
THe main thing was that the goal was given - compare that to the seemingly "good goal" that was disallowed at Oxford last week! Given the late goals we conceded to Histon, Salisbury, and York a couple of month back , it is great to be putting one over on the opposition agan. Colin Walker in his Radio York interview describes the end as a "kick in the goolies"

A chance to go top of the league and break a long standing club record - the team are winning, scoring goals and keeping a fair amount of clean sheets! If that doesn't get people up to Plainmoor then all the Bateson talk of the Torbay area not deserving a football league club will appear true. The Board, Management and players have done that is possible to win back fans that became disillusioned in August. No champions league football to compete with on Tuesday......if we don't get 2800 (which is by no means fantastic) then it will be a real pity.

Is it my computer, or are we wearing RED shorts??? I can only assume the referee was extremely pedantic over OUR royal blue shorts clashing with their navy blue ones. I don't know what's happened to the white set...............are they incomplete or deemed "too small" for comfort? Anyway, in my eyes maroon is more a clash with navy blue than royal. When I reffed, it was only in the senior leagues that neither shirts nor stockings should clash - no mention of shorts. Shirts for obvious reasons, stockings to assist the lino when the ball "squirted" over the touchline following a challenge. Any self respecting ref who gets fooled by shorts must be wearing his specs up the wrong end of his body! I can remember in the late sixties OUR club getting a ten pound fine off the Football League for turning out in the "wrong coloured" stockings at Shrewsbury! ...............and what about the ridiculous BSP ruling that WE couldn't wear blue numbers on OUR yellow shirts last season? So we wore white ones which nobody could pick out - you couldn't make up such rubbish could you! I thought those highlights showed some quality football being played by BOTH sides and the move that led to Roscoe's goal was top drawer. Thommo's final ball with the outside of his inside foot was reminiscent of Tony Scott at his imperious best!

A good video there, and it looked like a great turnout from the Gulls fans also! In my opinion, our second goal looked fair enough and I feel that York were just complaining, looking for any reason whatsoever for it to be ruled out. The goalie makes a mistake, and we made him pay. Great result. Roll on Tuesday!

Yes we are wearing RED/BURGANDY shorts!! See Chris Hargeaves latest Blog for reason why!!

Great find Dave, always nice to see the highlights. The red shorts threw me too, I thought I was going mad. Our first goal was top drawer. Hargreaves' vision, Thompson's flick and D'Sane's calm finish. Perfect. It reminded me a bit of our wonderful second goal at Ebbsfleet a few weeks back. There's a passage of play that starts around the 5 minute mark where the York player has a pop from around 15 yards. Pause it just as he's about to shoot (5:13) and you'll see there's five defenders and Bevan between him and the goal line. For me, this absolutely epitomises the spirit at the club at the moment and it is so heartwarming that this kind of effort is being made to get us back into the Football League. Just a shame that the corner won from that shot led to their equaliser... Bevan's 'save' when the ball comes back of the fascia of the stand is priceless...would be worth a third eye on Soccer AM if they covered BSP games. That made me burst out laughing. Might be worth sending in, you never know.

Have just returned after a terrific weekend in York.
Like many I did not expect to get a lot out of this game as York are a good side at home. This together with our injuries and the arrival of Bruce Dyer and our poor track record at the Kit Kat led me to conclude that a point would be a job well done.
I was surprised that the York people I spoke to before the game were fairly negative about their chances.
When Sodje was through in the first few minutes I thought here we go, but what a miss!
We settled well and looked really solid at the back, the midfield were running well and Hargreaves was giving his usual inspired performance as captain.
Sills was receiving little protection from the referee and was being fouled far too often.
D'sane I always feel sorry for as some of the supporters are too quick to get on at him, in fact the guy behind me did nothing but moan about him until; he scored the goal.
At half time I was quite happy.
The second half I thought we were by far the better team. Woods and Ellis were solid. How great to think with two of central defenders out we can still call upon Ellis who gave a very convincing performance.
Our first goal was real class, such great passing and a terrific finish.
I feared we might sit back but after an initial period of York pressure we seemed to be quite comfortable.
The save by Bevan was top rate and he is certainly popular with the supporters.
Their goal initially came from a foul on Thompson, I think it was him, and this made it even more annoying. The referee did make some poor decisions all afternoon, and that's not me just having a go at officials.
I was gutted at the thought of missing out of the three points but feared they might take tham all. What a difference this Torquay team is to go for a winner and who better than my MOTM Mark Ellis.
A fantastic team effort and I would like to see Bevan sign on as he is developing into a greta asset. I know Poke is also a great goalkeeper, but it would be super to have the stability of not losing loan keepers at crucial times.
A big well done to the team, what a change to the beginning of the season. Also well done to the terrific support.
Our weekend was a complete success and our hotel was first class and the wife did a great deal of Christmas shopping today, refusing to miss the game yesterday.
Sorry to have gone on but when you are winning it makes you feel so good especially when there, and I have been depressed too many times over the years.
