Well another cup game so soon after our great win in the 2nd round of the FA cup over Oxford. I would expect to see a few changes in the line up for this match.
Might well seen Green and Benyon start up front as I think it would be good to give Sills a rest, I also believe Ellis will start in place of Hodges and we may well see Poke playing in goal, as his cup ties should not apply for this game.

I think with the Christmas period coming up, the time for some squad rotation has come. To be fair to Buckle, for the Weymouth match, we still needed to beat the record and didn't have too many mid week matches to contend with!
Forest Green are also through to the FA third round and with their relegation battle, may not attribute so much value to this competition.
I still presume Carlisle is out injured so would like to see a side line up as follows:
Poke
Robertson Ellis Woods Nicholson
Carayol Adams Brough Stevens
Green Benyon
This would give our top four "minutes on pitch" players a rest which includes our more mature players in the form of Hargreaves and Hodges.

Having started this thread at 1.20am, I did not think about Poke properly, I don't think he can play as he would have needed to be in the team for yesterdays game and as he was not permitted to play in the FA cup for us, then he could not have even been on the bench.
So it will have to be Bevan in goal, but Bucks will I hope use some more of the squad and rest some of the regular first team players.

Maybe I have got it wrong, but I thought to play in this cup the players needed to be in the team in any of our last two games, If I'm correct that Poke has not been.

You got it wrong....................the criterion is ten out of the sixteen, so there is the possibility to use just about anyone in the squad who is fit.

Looking forward to this one after yesterday. It's like a friendly with the added bonus of there being prize-money on offer - but hopefully not a warm-up to us meeting in a 3rd round FA Cup clash!!
I expect to see Green and Benyon start up-front, Danny Stevens, Stevie Adams, John Brough, and Carayol in the midfield and the defence to include Ellis and Robertson. I'd like to see Charran and possibly Yeoman get a run-out.
I'll be at the game - can't imagine that there will be more than 100 or so away fans. It was cold the last time we were up there so I can't imagine how bad it will be on Tuesday!!

Yes indeed I did get it wrong and should have stuck with my first post sure I read somewhere that the team put out had to be a part of the last two squads picked, I have got my cups mixed up, or mis read or understood the rules on one of the cups we are still in.

Absolutely agree with this team RJD. It is the team i would like to see start. I would also put some of the young lads on the bench, Charran & Kelly are 2 i would like to see given a few minutes. It would be good to see the young goalie (fisher i think he is called) given some playing time as i have heard good things about him, but with Poke himself having not played for a few weeks, he needs a full 90 minutes.

From the article in the Herald, it sounds as though Woods will be rested as well. Poke is a definite starter. Wholesale changes, but still a strong group of players pushing for first team contention.

Yes Poke will be starting and we will see Green and Benyon upfront together, Adams will also get a game at last and I'm sure he will do everything to try and impress Bucks. Can't see the game being on the radio tonight and not sure if we have any members going, maybe tufc01 might go, he went to Weymouth and gave us a good report. If any members are going I hope you can write a small report as its aways good to get a fans view, who has watched the match live.

If you want to keep up with the score live, you can go to Bet365 and follow it via the live in play betting - being able to bet on Setanta shield games as they happen, what is the world coming to!!

HT 0-0. Chances aplenty for the Gulls in the first 15 mins, shooting towards the away fans fir the 1st 45. I'd say about 80 have made the trip. Benyon missed an 'easy'chance, Green has spurned about 4 and looks like he is running on marbles at times. It definitely has the feel of a reserve game but Stevens is causing problems on the right. Pokey made a couple of smart saves on about 35 mins but FGR are picking-up the pace and are getting on top. The midfield of Brough and Adams are anonymous without the ball.
BTW - Anyone who has teenage sons called 'Rushie' or 'Vaughny' at the game, your foul-mouthed idiot kids tarnish the name of Torquay United with your language & behaviour in-front of families. Absolute scum and walking adverts for compulsory euthanasia.
