The problem with the defence is a lack of pace, and yes ok we`ve done pretty well in the last couple of months, but the lack of pace worries me, Woods and Hodges are no spring chickens. Personally i`d like to see Ellis along side Woods.
Also does anyone know hoe Eastbourne scored their goals ?? (no smart comments thanks)

I think we must look at this in context - it was a match that we lost that we had some selections that some people might question - to be honest there have have been a few selections that I have questioned over the last month and we have still won most of those games!! There will always be off-days, we have to accept that. I'm looking forward to the reports from those at the match, but to me it just sounded "one of those games" and some players were punihed for mistakes that on other days they would have gotten away with. It is difficult to tell much just by listening to the radio. The biggest disappointment is to come back to my phone to find 9 texts from the match at 25p each (I never signed-up for the match coverage!) at a cost of £2.25 - what a waste of money!!! Time to regroup on Saturday for the Bath game (which is important for the finances) and look to the next BSP matches, I 'm glad there haven't been any hysterical reactions on this site. Just had a look on .net Boy oh boy there are some fans out there, panic in Torquay... Hopefully it's just an off-day.

Hang around a while ospel, as I feel sure the words "Buckle" and "feck" will be used by a certain someone at some point soon.

, I'm glad there haven't been any hysterical reactions on this site. We are going to be disappointed, as we want to go back into the league, but its only one game and no need to get alarm bells ringing just yet. After a poor start, we went on a very good run of results, every team is going to lose some games, just look at some of the results in the Prem. There is nothing to indicate this is anything other that a bad one off game for us. We will know if and when we need to start being concerned, that sure is not now.

I am putting this one down to a bad day at the office too.
I can understand Bucks not wanting to 'tinker' with a winning team too much, but if we are honest while the results of late have been ok, performances while good at times, over a period of the whole 90 mins have not been that of a title winning team.
So now is the time to bring back the likes of Ellis for Hodges/Nicho (who still plays too long ball far too often for me). Carayol for Stevens and a choice of either Benyon or Thompson depending on the opposition we are playing.
This may sound harsh on EB but he is an impact player and makes a far better impact when coming off the bench. He is still too weak, and therefore any CB worth his salt in this division can figure out how to play him in the first 5 mins of the match.
Does anyone else find it odd that Thompson seems to be so close to a starting place, yet when we a chasing a goal like we were tonight and against Cambridge on Saturday he is does not come on?
Lets not panic yet, its only one game and the run was bound to end sometime but Bucks has said players not in the side will get their chance, and in my opinion that time has come. I just wish it was a League game on Saturday, I always prefer another must win game after a hammering like that.

mickyflash, I don't see Thompson as a striker and he would not be my choice to bring on, it we were looking to get a goal back. I really think Green must get a good two games now, firstly in the Bowl and again on Saturday.
I still believe he can play a big part in our season, Oxford really wanted him after playing for them on loan. He must have something about him, he may get the chance now to show more than he has and then if he does well, could be the answer I think he could and should be.

Point taken Dave.
I do not really see Thompson as a striker, but feel he is an attacking option. and I rate his passing and hold up play highly.
Completely agree with you about Green, was really disappointed with what he offered when he came on against Cambridge, but to be fair he wasn't given much time.
I am hoping for 2 good performances from him too. he started to look sharp and gain some real momentum before his sending off. its such a shame as now he appears to be feeling sorry for himself once more

I think he is and he would have expected to have come here and not only be starting every game but have 10 plus goals by now.I don't care how much Merse goes on about players being pros and are happy to wait their chance, not getting any starts when all you want to do is play football and some part in the team games, must have an effect on how any player ends up feeling in the end.

Can't believe the excellent team I saw on Sat could put in a show like that - still, maybe it was a huge banana skin waiting to happen. Somehow can't imagine it happening to Histon or Burton though. Must say I thought Green did a couple of decent things when he came on against Cambridge, like he did at Wrexham - I'm sure he's got something and needs a run to show it. Must agree with Mickeyflash, I can't wait for another league game to get it out of the system - can't get excited about Trophy, especially after what happened last time !

Peter I can understand why you may not get excited about the Trophy game, but it can be used now to sort out any problems and also to try something different. Not saying a mass change of style or players, but having Green on the pitch and get Ellis and Robertson back in also.

We were a disgrace, no passion. Couldn't string a pass together. Barnes for them was a different class. And there goals were good.
There was some trouble near the end when barnes went down when we were on the attack and no one was near him. He and the physio got the cheat barrage from us then the physio looked at us and went come on then and inticed a fight!!!! Bstard...
Crap ground crap games - need i say more...

Heard on the radio that the stewards had moved in Brett, but sure it stated there was no trouble and the TUFC fans who where there did the team and club proud.
