I didn't check these at home yet, thanks for that site Dave, but the internet at work obviously goes like the wind... Download speed 94966 Upload speed 64327 Match that Merson LOL! And of course, he of the slow speeds would know that our part of the River is not tidal, so the only way we'd get wet up here would be during a movie style monsoon which dropped half an ocean on us

Looking at the speeds you got Andy, are you on cable at work? those results look too good to be on a phone line.

DL 2109 UL 245 Is that good or bad? If your paying for a 8mb service then I would say its bad, you are only getting 2mb download speed and while I'm not sure where the exchange is in Torquay these days, I would have thought I'm as far away from my exchange in Paignton as you must be from yours in Torquay.

After five disconnects already tonight while using a quality netgear modem router and seeing my sync speeds drop each time from 6800 to what it is now 2424, I can't wait till tomorrow when I get home and find my new super fast cable broadband installed and working.
My phone has not rung all night and the netgear is renowned for holding onto its connections with the exchange. Its just a case that BT exchanges can't handle the traffic in the evenings and keep reducing peoples speeds so it can cope.

Don`t believe em for a minute mate, the weakest link in the chain is going to be in your house, they can take the fastest link to your door but if your wiring is not up to it then it will cost you to get a network boy in to make sure your getting what you paid for! Fibre optic is great BUT when you introduce it to your hoose it slows down to the speed your copper core wires can handle, SO, if you get optic connection then you need optical cabling through out the hoose or it is as slow as was before! 2012 my butty! They will have to rip up all the foot paths and roads agian just like Virgin did for their cable network! Aint appining! After a few hours trying to set up the new home wireless network, I have got it working. Paying for 10mg and the speed tests show I'm getting 9868, at last a broadband that delivers what it says on the tin
