This is being started because I know JimD loves seagulls ;D ;D
So my views are I live by the sea and share my space with seagulls and I have no problem with them.
Yes I get angry when they ripe open my rubbish, yes I get mad when they dirty my car. I don't like it when they have young around and I have to keep my head low, after being dive bombed by them.
But they are a part of Torbay, where here before us and can't really be blamed if some of the problems are caused by us. Like leaving rubbish out in plastic bags. We have no real creature to fear in this country, no tigers or even those big things??? I remember elephants. Its like moving to a village, then complaining the church rings its bells. Seagulls are a part of seaside towns, thats it.

In general I do not have a problem with them, BUT when what I refer to as the "resident seagull" on a neighbours roof starts SQUAWKING to his fellow gulls at about 3.30am every morning I do have a problem!!!! I need my beauty sleep!!!!!!

I think Umbro had the right idea in the late sixties when they inadvertently sewed the Gulls' crest on the shirts upside down. Now why doesn't Dave R start a campaign for all of Torbay's seagulls to be trained to fly upside down?

Disease carrying vermin. Cull the BLOODY lot of them. Pesky little chip nickers!!! So I take it that you do not like seagulls? So should we cull everything we don't like? so some people don't like cats, so they can go, others hate dogs, lets get them on the list, I hate spiders so I'll start that cull and I think by the time everyone was asked, we might as well rid the planet of everything living. No I 'm not some person who believes god put everything on earth, but If you had your way, would you not be playing god. Who are we to really say what can share the planet or not, maybe it would be a better planet if we humans were all culled, we do far more harm than any seagull ever could. What we need to do is to start changing their habits, stop making it easy for them to get food, from plastic black bags, stop them nesting on house roofs, mind you those who do not like them could aways move inland. The sound of the waves, the call of the seagull, together lets you know, you are by the seaside and what a great place to live. As long as WE learn to live with what was here before us.

mind you those who do not like them could aways move inland. You're 'avin' a laugh surely! There's just as many of them on the rubbish tips of inland Britain than ever there are by the seaside. "Have you ever seen a beach?" would be an appropriate song for them!

After what happened to my nice shiny black car this morning you are welcome to 'em.................cork 'em and make 'em fly upside down I say! Mind you they live so well off the fat of the land up here I don't reckon they're fit enough to get as far as the Penn Inn Roundabout and I reckon the nearest "land fill" sight to N7 must be down near Romford & Sally's gaff in Hornchurch ;D

Its good luck Merse, you should know that, any way I'm sure it needed a clean, after all its all smog up there, I know I saw in on a film once, can't really understand why seagulls would really want to live there anyway.

I'm another seagull hater. Grew up in Paignton and hated them then. They get more agressive with each passing year. There are far too many of them......now where's me shotgun!!!
