The games are coming think and fast right now and for the second week running we are playing away three days after losing a home game we were winning.
With Rendell out with a broken arm that requires him to have an operation, we are now looking very light up front and unless we get a new striker before the window closes, we are going to have to rely on Zebs and Benyon to try and get the goals.
We really need Carlisle back for this game and I feel we should not start with Danny on the other wing, its time to give O’Kane a start as he looked like he has more to offer than Stevens.
Branston is bound to start you feel and I really would put Mark Ellis beside him, Mark will give us the fight at the back that I feel is lacking and he would give 200% out on the pitch.
It did not happen for the Bradford game, but I would like to see Cox and Stevens start at the back as well, I keep hearing how Thompson is playing well away from home and while that may be the case, I still feel we need far more bite in midfield and Mansell surely would give us that?
Another very hard game where getting any result is not going to be easy, all games are winnable and we do need three points very urgently if only to help some fans keep the faith.

We don't need a liability like Branston. Burton fans are celebrating him being here, surely they know more about him than us!! I'm sadly considering Hereford away at the moment due to recent form. Crewe will be difficult with Dario pulling the strings again.

I still feel we need far more bite in midfield and Mansell surely would give us that? If Dario Gradi has got them playing in his tried and trusted manner, then retaining possession of the ball will be more important Dave, as we will find that we are without it for longer periods than is normal in this league. So for me, the "ball winning" potential of Mansell is then offset by his profligacy when in possession. Give me Wroe and Thompson for this one. Give me Cox and Smith at fullback and Branston and Charnock in the middle of the defence. I would play Mansell out wide on the right, Thomson out left and leave Zebroski and Benyon to sort it out up front either as a pair or a "one in front of one" as we have played the last two games. Will there be a new striker? Who knows so I have "selected" from what we have and we have a fine young energetic player like O'Kane to come on and maintain the energy levels after an hour or so.

I'd be happy with merse's selections, as well. Assuming Wayno is unfit as we've not heard to the contrary. As its been panic stations at Plainmoor the last couple of weeks, I expect O'Leary and McAllister to be in the squad by then, unless the proverbial rabbit is pulled from the hat. The wife is going to go spare if we don't get some points on the board soon, as I tend to find it hard to stay away in such circumstances. Sore throat lozenges on order. I've not seen Thompson have a duff away performance, so I'd probably stick with him as well, if push came to shove.

i dont know about anyone else but i was kind of hoping this game would be called off tonight. The transfer window business yesterday was kind of disappointing, and i just have a feeling this may come a bit early after recent traumas at the club.Crewe never an easy place to get results at the best of times, but they are struggling a little particularly at home,we dont need a battering at present,i will take a draw from this but have a niggling doubt about us with this game

Excerpt from the BBC website preview of the game:
Crewe duo Danny O'Donnell (dead leg) and Ashley Westwood (ankle) should both be fit after going off during Saturday's 2-1 loss to Bournemouth.
Luke Murphy may also start after scoring from the bench.
It doesn't say whether he was standing up or still sitting down, but it must have been hell of a shot.

I would like to see this team.
Poke
Smith, Pickles, Charnock, Cox
Thomson Mansell Wroe Stevens (assuming Carlisle still unfit and not in squad)
Thompson
Zebroski.
Although Benyon, had a good game on Saturday, I think a striker on the bench is a necessity and not a luxury! He is best placed to make an impact later in the game.

Well the genius that is in charge is playing Chris Robertson at right back and has dropped Lee Mansell. I give up.

There's something nobody expected - Robertson back at right back, Mansell dropped.
Let's hope Crewe haven't got a pacey left winger.
