They say that a week is a long time in politics (indeed the 90 minutes great live debate last night seemed to last a week!) but it is also certainly true in football circles. Only last Friday night we were awaiting games against top-of-the-table Rochdale and fourth in the table Aldershot with a fair amount of trepidation. Nobody involved in football would have been unduly surprised had we lost both of them. That would have left us going in to tomorrows game only 3 points above the relegation places and knowing that if we lost we would only stay above that dreaded 23rd spot on goal difference. But now a week on who cares about 'what if?'? Two sparkling displays, two wins, seven goals scored, none conceded, and Paul Buckle charges confidently on towards the April League Two Manager of the Month award. Two more wins, or even a win and a draw, should see him there

if we draw with grimsby tomorrow we are safe,we will then have 48 points and the most they would be able to get then would be 48 points and our goal difference is far superior,so come on lads at least a draw tomorrow please

Anyone got any info on how many are officially going to grimsby without the large excile contingent. I am just so gutted i cant be their. This is really do or die for grimsby i just hope the lads dig deep for the 1st half because it really will be scenes from the battle of somme. But historically when it matters we do seem to pull it out of the bag, remember Carlisle away in the early 1990,s(1-0 win-what scenes after the final whistle). And then that famous win again at Carlisle(2-1) in the 2005 season and yeah barnet away. History does point to a draw at least for us.

Thinking we were going to get our heads kicked in, imagine how (after a few seconds) the realisation felt as we saw that they were smiling and starting to applaud us all and as the two "Armies" got within touching distance the hand shakes and hugs began; reminiscent of that fabled Christmas Day football match at The Somme. Pure magic and 48 hours and a day's racing at beautiful Ludlow later I was in hospital for heart checks

Am I the only one that's still a bit nervous ? If we should lose tomorrow I could easily imagine Grimsby winning their last three. We would then have to get 3 points from Macc, Bury and Notts County - (unless Barnet, Lincoln or Cheltenham blow up completely) not an easy given ! Whatever, I shall be crossing a very familiar M62 tomorrow with optimism to support the lads.

Have a great day and I look forward to the match reports of a 3-1 win I probably won't listen to the game on the radio as I plan to watch Ant play at Ipplepen, I'll take a small radio and will just check on whats going on at halftime. If we play as we have been doing in our last four games then we really should be safe come 5pm today, but we are Torquay United and so often in the past have failed in games where one point was only required. We know our players will give everything they have today to get the required point, but should they fail there will be no need for panic or getting over concerned as we will still be in the best position of some teams around us to stay up. Looking forward to reading the match reports later and fingers crossed we will all be in a party mood on here tonight.

Can remember that Carlisle game as if it was yesterday. Sat in the garden, a blazing hot sunny day and listening to the commentary. Bloody long second half that was I can tell you. Can't remember but didn't Carlisle "equalise" only for it to get chalked off. What a victory that was and out of all our escapes that one was the most astonishing. Thank god there is not quite the pressure on this afternoons game now. Don't think there is much pressure at all on us now and I woukld not expect the sort of brilliant first half we had at Aldershot as we only need a point. Difficult one to call really but I really think the pressure game was on Tuesday night and we sailed through that.

Unchanged line up with Bevan on the bench.
The home fixture was possibly the nadir in terms of performance but couldn't go into this match with more confidence. COYG.
