I remember Aaron Kudi & Scott Taylor from a football tour to Germany playing for Newton 66 in 2006. Scott Taylor is 100% Newtonian.

I`d love to see the day when half the first team were Devonian or Cornish.
no reason why it shouldn`t happen. Devon is a big county and only has Exeter at this level.

Not quite sure if this should now go on this thread, so I may also add it to the one that Jon made from parts of this and which he then put into the History Room. (Does this not show the strength of this forum? A match report on a Youth game at rain-swept Plainmoor turns into an important historical document.) Anyway, onto the story.... Way back in late 1980 I went with my family for a weekend break to Saunton Sands... But being 17 years old and just passed my driving test and having been allowed to drive my own 'new' car... a barely legal MG 1300.... (It sounded good to the girls but was in fact an Austin 1100 with twin carbs, a slightly larger engine and MG badges) I wasn't going to be constrained to the hotel and it's grounds (lovely as it is Mr Brend!) On the way up to the hotel on the Friday, whilst passing through Bideford, I had glimpsed a set of amazing floodlights and so after lunch on Saturday I took off in the rain to investigate. On the drive over my windscreen wipers packed-in so I had to keep stopping and wipe the water away with a cloth and realised that as the downpour increased I had no way of getting back until it eased. I got to the ground at 2.30 to find there was a game on that afternoon and worried about the non-activating wipers decided there was no better way to wait for the weather to abate than to take in the game. That is how I found myself watching the Western league match between Bideford and Keynsham Town. And the reason I've posted this bit of the programme on here? The goalkeeper for Bideford that day was none other than Robbie Robbins himself (although I had no idea he was ex-United until this year!) of whom 'Stefano' writes. Also of interest is the number 6 for Keynsham, 45 year-old Ray Mabbutt, father of Bristol Rovers, Spurs & England's Gary & Bristol City's Kevin, and himself a former Bristol Rovers player of some repute. He also became the first 'professional' footballer at Clevedon Town in 1974. Also playing for Bideford was former Exeter City player Graham Weeks. Ps... can't rmember the result or attendance, it's in a diary somewhere but by the time I find it Jon will have given us the required info no doubt!
